The bike's delivery was started on 15 of April and I got it on 16 of Apr so I was the first customer at the showroom or maybe be first in the city. Therefore, I got so much attention as well as many bikes, that I chose the top variant of the model. The showroom owner hosted a cake-cutting ceremony to make this moment memorable. After taking delivery I rode it around 200 km to my hometown, riding experience was amazing as the company was claiming, and some were very close to reviews given by many YouTubers. It has a lot of torque and a low rpm engine is the main attraction to long-range riders. Before getting it, I was riding the RE classic 350 and I felt a lot of difference in terms of handling, smoothness of the engine, and technology while the current price of the duo is almost the same, yeah, the accessories cost may be a little high. I choose it after a long analysis of some other bikes like the Triumph Speed 400, dominor, Honda CB 350, HD X440, etc. Due to servicing and dealership, I chose it, and thank God my decision went well.

  • A highway rider that justifies the price tag and stamps Hero's entry into the segment

    Vizak Adhithyan

    1. City rides: The bike is good for city rides with its great pickup at less torque. Gear shifting is also smooth. Handling is good. Mileage is around 20-30 km since I have to constantly change speeds and shift gears in Bangalore traffic
    2. Highway rides: The bike is incredibly smooth for rides up to 100kmph speed. Post that, you'll feel vibrations until 125kmph in the handlebar. But post that, the bike struggles to accelerate. The seat is suited for short travels and could have been better, when you travel more than 1 hour, you'll start feeling flat effects. Mileage is around 30-40 km
    3. Braking: The foot brake is too low and hits the surface on steep speedbreakers. The front brake could've been better.
    4. Engine: On highways, you'll feel great with the engine. But in city roads with huge traffic, the engine heats up too much and since it's air cooled engine, there is no way to cool it other than riding it above 40 on a free road for some time.
    5. Horn: When you ride in too much traffic and the engine heats up a lot, the horn stops working until the engine is back to a decent temperature.
    6. Accessories: Many accessories for the bike are not yet on the market. Hence you've to go with private customized Accessories if ever you want any (such as a luggage carrier, or crash guard)

  • Good but not the best

    Krishna

Riding is comfortable for both the rider and Pelion. I rode it every day to the office in Bangalore traffic it gets a bit hot but it’s rideable. Performance is good it always has some torque to pull in traffic. I get around 22-26kmpl mileage I check with other riders and they are getting similar if you ride in Bangalore traffic. On highways, you can pull 30-32.
I have not yet had the servicing done but a few people who I know told me it costs around 2700-3500 for the first service.

    Sid

I am yet to experience the service side of things for the bike but the performance seems to be top notch and thus a bike with value built for Indian roads. I will update the review as time goes by. My current observations are as follows:
    Pros:
    + Good engine performance.
+ A head turner for the ear-pleasing thuds.
+ Decent turn radius for city rides.
-- Yet to test the grip and braking performance.
    Cons:
    - Should there be any cons at all? Okay. Here to go. The aesthetics may not be pleasing to everyone. I personally love them though.

  • Hero Mavrick 440: A failed attempt to challenge Royal Enfield and Honda

    Devesh Sharma

    Listed below are the pros:
    1. Superior ride quality, very comfortable and easy to ride that even my dad takes it very easily.
    2. Excellent low and mid-range torque, it has plenty of torque and never feels exhausted. Reaches 100KMPH with a slight twist of the throttle.
    3. Very engaging confidence sets it the moment you release the clutch, whether you ride it at 10 or 120 kmph confidence remains the same. The bike wants you to play with it.
    4. Bright headlight no need for aux lights.
    5. Connected features, it is equipped with E-Sim so that you can track and set speed limit alerts and fall alerts makes it very useful.
    6. Braking: very progressive and easy braking setup braking needs can be handled by just one finger.
    7. No back pain on long rides very easily you can do 150 - 200 kms in a single stretch.
    8. Roaring exhaust sound keeps you entertained on highways and city.
    9. Low heating only when standing in traffic for more than 10 mins in idling then heat is felt and once you get going even at low speed engine cools very fast.
Cons: After all not everything is great on this motorcycle:
    1. Bad meter console and its controls: using navigation is a waste of time as it hangs after some time. Low visibility in the time as it is a negative lcd in sunlight it fails to even clearly show the speed.
    2. Automatic headlights: it keeps switching on and off whenever it feels like.
    3. Vibrations near 4000 rpm and post that flat curve of the power band it has maximum torque in the 2500- 3000 rpm range and the engine loves those readings.
    4. Very high engine braking, you will feel the resistance.
The last con is something that makes you reconsider your decision to buy this such a good machine:
    THE AFTER-SALES SERVICE AND SUPPORT:
Since this is a newly developed and launched motorcycle, it will take some time to get settled with minor issues however Hero’s lack of Quality control is visible with this premium product:
    1. Since the first hour of the delivery, the whole LED headlight setup has been flickering randomly, it starts to flicker anytime.
    2. No support from HERO on this today is the 23rd dat I have been to the service center more than 6 six times, they just open up some wires and say it is fixed.
    3. Mechanics are not trained to fix this bike, they even do not have a clue where to find the battery or how to open the panels of the bike to check for wiring issues, even a windshield installation took almost 3 hrs because mechanics there were not having any idea on installation procedure and this is happening in a renowned service center situated in Noida.
    4. When you reach out to customer care no response is received, it is just another Splendor for them and yes you have to wait in line for at least 1- 2 hrs in the queue to get a job card opened for basic service.
    5. Very low customer satisfaction and no importance to consumer voice.
This is one of the major reasons I believe one should think before investing your hard-earned money as other brands like HONDA, KTM, RE offer very reliable product offerings and resolutions in case any issue arises with the product.
I could not believe how HERO did not have time even to diagnose the issue it is one of the serious issues when you are traveling at night and out of nowhere this headlight starts flickering which can result in fatal accidents as well, and for Hero, this is just normal.
    Verdict:
It is one of the masterpieces that has the potential to challenge brands like RE and HONDA CB350.
It ticks all the right parameters for comfortable riding and can easily fulfill the daily needs of a rider.
However, Hero’s attention to the problem and the solution is where competition makes a big move and remains the king of the segment.
This a just another failed attempt to challenge Royal Enfield and Honda.
Thank you for reading and for your time.

    Pros:
Powerful engine with strong low-end torque
    Comfortable riding position
    Excellent handling
    Competitive Pricing
    Affordable servicing
    Cons:
Lacks some features like a USD fork
    Not a high-revving engine

  • Good experience and comfort so far.
