Here are some tips for maintaining a Hero Splendor Plus: Oil Check the oil level at least once a month or before long trips, and change the oil according to the manufacturer's recommendations. This is usually every 3,000 km or as stated in the owner's manual. Use high-quality oil that meets or exceeds Hero MotoCorp's standards. Tires Check tire pressure regularly, and inspect tires for wear and tear. Under-inflated tires can affect handling and fuel efficiency. Drive chain Check and lubricate the drive chain as part of a pre-ride inspection. If the motorcycle is used a lot or ridden in dusty areas, it may need more frequent maintenance. To check the drive chain slack, turn off the engine, raise the rear wheel off the ground, and shift into neutral. Then, check the slack in the lower drive chain run between the sprockets, and adjust it so it can move vertically by hand. This is a nice bike for the middle-class person because its mileage is good it's about 65-75/km. And maintenance is also very low. I bought this bike in 2009 and it's still running great now. Only I have done some engine work this year. It's a rough and tough bike that is able to ride in fields also.

This engine was mated to a four-speed gearbox until Hero updated the bike for BS6 norms when a five-speed gearbox was introduced.
