  • Hero packs a punch.

    Ayan Singha

With hero X-Treme 160 r hero finally entered the mid range bike arena which until now the Yamaha FZ, Bajaj Pulsar and the apache were enjoying. A fresh new robotic look with all new LED console and lights ( not to forget the hazard light button). With the sporty features it does well in city and highways as well. Riding position mostly upright and the expect a smooth ride. People may find the pillion seat being a bit small and no grab rails given except one that comes integrated by the sides of the rear seat. So far the servicing part is good with the hero motor workshop. Over all what the bike lacks in power makes up in fuel efficiency. Even though, you won't find any vibration even on 90 km/h. If you are looking for something new, sleek with a bit of fuel economy, X-treme 160R is the way to go.

Can change the oil after 5000km, the manual says 6000km, and it also advices you refill in every 3500 ( while in free servicing). There's hardly any refilling done, you need to buy a new one. After the free servicing you can change the engine oil in 5000km gap.

  • Poor Fuel Gauge in Hero Bikes

    Yogesh

Pros :- Good Avg. , Smooth riding.
Cons:- Hero has a common issue with their fuel gauges, which do not update in real time. This problem affects all Hero Bike latest models and is well-documented in numerous YouTube videos of Splendor Xtec. When the bike is started on the side stand, it shows low fuel, but the gauge fails to update when the bike is standing straight/leveled. Even after traveling a straight distance of 10 kilometers, the meter fails to reflect any changes in the fuel level, Furthermore, on a daily basis, I commute approximately 90 kilometers. However, during the course of my rides, the fuel gauge consistently fails to update the fuel level. the bike needs to be switched off and on to get an accurate fuel reading.

I got my hero xtreme 160 r for 1.21 lakhs (on road price) , the riding experience of this bike is amazing you won't be tired for long drive its smooth , comfortable (feels like you are in car) , road grip is excellent , handling is good .Coming to the looks and design, it looks like an predator (James Cameron movie character) and it has an excellent design and good looking. Mileage is around 45-52 kms/lit till now. First service completed , showroom guys charged me 600 Rs.(engine oil, polishing, water wash etc.). This bike is suitable for shorter riders also.
It has special features like auto cut off engine if stand is not taken and if you shift the gear, it pickup the speed to 60 km/h in just 4.7seconds, auto sail in traffic roads.
    Pros:-
    Premium looks
    Comfortable rides and handling
    Abs
Lesser weight compare to other models in this cc range
    Cheaper servicing cost
    Cons:-
    The seat is very hard
    Pillion rider seat is small

  • A boy who regret his decision made and based on only looks.

See, the buying experience is okay, but not great after having the helmet with the bill we were forced to buy their helmet but I complained about it and resolved it. I believe Hero needs to work on Engine refinement and instrument cluster because there were not many features only basic features were there. The LED headlamp is fine but sometimes it feels like you need a clearer view and more broader LED range. The indicators are good. Fuel mileage is fine at ₹500 it runs around 1.5 weeks around 120-140km. I appreciate their exhaust pipe remains cool after driving 13km in traffic. I feel the exhaust node is very quiet nearly no base. Without a rear mudguard bike will get dirty after every rain. The front mud is not good engine area gets really dirty. Give you power mostly when you need it. I would say there is no pillion seat because it's not uncomfortable but dangerous to sit on a pillion because after grabbing the side grab rails also if the bike takes acceleration or front braking there is a chance the pillion can fall because there is no control over their after grabbing side grab rails. For the rider comfortable but initially, your pelvis touches with fuel tank which is uncomfortable my friend also said this.

Firstly I would like to thank Hero Motocorp for releasing this beautiful bike within economical cost. Coming to riding experience I would like to give 9/10. In between 60-70 km/l the bike has more vibration than in other speeds. Beautiful looks 10/10 and performance 9/10 is also good. These are pros. Cons are little. Pillion seat is discomfortable.

    1. Buying was very smooth, if you have all the required doc then you can ride it out within an hour.
    2. I have done 7500km and also done a few trips, it was very easy & comfortable. No back pain.
    3. Looks 10/10, 45-48kmpl easy I get.
    4. Pros - catchy looks, good seating posture, excellent in class, very good mileage.
Cons - driving on the highway or expressway will shake the bike (which can be dangerous), sometimes gear gets stuck or makes a loud noise while shifting. The pillion seat is compromised a little bit.
