Buying experience: awesome treatment in the showroom anytime if you go into any bigwings Riding experience: very comfortable, smooth, love to go in the city and long drives. Clutch is very smooth compared to re and other bikes in this segment.Details about looks, performance etc.: I would like to have 30 bhp, which is an awesome pickupServicing and maintenance: bangalore has only 2 service centers, need to have at least 10 covering all corners and centers in the cityPros and cons: add more accessories like re in the showroom itself and add more service centers.

It's a modern retro classic motorcycle. Looks like a motorcycle from the 60s but with a superb smooth engine, traction control, slipper clutch, dual channel abs, and digital & analog display without a tachometer. Very smooth to ride and the clutch is very light to use. Hence good for city commutes as well as comfortable long rides. I have used it for local commutes within bangalore city as well as a couple of bangalore to kanyakumari trips. Have covered around 3000 kms. The 4th and 5th gear ratios are on the taller side and designed for highway cruising. It's like you need to reach 70kmph speed before shifting to 5th gear and around 45 to 50 kmph speed before shifting to 4th gear. Perfect for highway cruising. Till 85kmph the engine runs in eco mode indicated in the dashboard. If maintained at this speed bike returns around 45 kmpl mileage. The rear brake is spongy and the front brake is good. Front suspension is slightly on the stiffer side while rear suspension seems to be on the softer side offering good highway ride comfort. The first service was done in tirunelveli bigwing (rehoboth) as I had clocked close to 1000 kms when I was on my way to kanyakumari from bangalore. It was a nice experience. The service center mechanics were very good and the whole experience was pleasant. After returning back to bangalore I noticed uneven tension with the chain. Cleaned and lubed the chain and adjusted the chain tension before my trip back to kanyakumari. During the trip it was smooth. After reaching kanyakumari, again chain was tight. Checked the links which were not straight and complained to the service center. They raised a warranty claim with honda which was rejected saying that it is a wear and tear issue. I have owned multiple bikes like cbr250r, ninja650, yamaha fzs and never faced this kind of issue that too within a few kilometers of usage. Now I think I have to buy a new chain and replace it.Apart from this issue, the motorcycle is a gem. I think if after-sales service issues are taken care it would be a perfect ownership experience.

1. Buying experience Bought honda highness dlx massive matte grey from vfm big wing, indira nagar, bangalore. Booking, loan processing was completed in one day. Since this particular color product was available with them they quickly processed everything and delivered it within 4 working days. Sanjay the executive from the showroom was very helpful. He had good knowledge of the bike and explained it very well. Also, accessories are priced decently and quality is good too, like saddle bag stays, crash and engine guards, mud flaps, seats etc. Overall a satisfying buying experience.2. Riding experienceI had ridden my cousin's bike earlier and loved the riding characteristics. Abundant torque at low and mid rpm helps with easy city commutes. Tall 4th and very tall 5th gear make highway rides smooth and efficient. This bike is not for top speed but for relaxed cruising at 90 to 100 kmph. I loved the 85 to 90 kmph speed. Until 85 kmph the bike runs in eco mode and returns good mileage (around 45 kmpl). The Clutch is very soft even easier to use than my yamaha fzs, thanks to the slipper and assist clutch while downshifting there is no jerk. The engine is completely vibration-free even when ridden at 100+ kmph speed.3. LooksIt's a complete classic retro look. Love the looks. Always wanted to buy triumph street twin. But can't afford it. This bike comes close from the looks perspective (at least of the available models in India).In-person the motorcycle is massive which cannot be felt by seeing videos or photos. PerformanceIt's a long-stroke engine a bore/stroke ratio less than that of a meteor. This means that stroke length is more than that of meteor or classic. And it is a 4 valve engine. This means that the motorcycle makes good torque, no wonder it makes 30nm torque at just 3000 rpm which is more torque at less rpm - than that of a meteor or classic 350. Also, highness is almost 15kgs lighter than classic 350 or meteor. The riding position is neutral which helps in daily commutes through city traffic easily at the same time cruising on the highway is a breeze with the vibration-free engine. Traction control is available I haven't got the opportunity to test it yet.
