  • Suspension is worst.

    Vishal

High cost as compared to features. Riding on the smooth road is good.. Major problem is the rear shock absorber of unicorn 160 bs6 is faulty and useless almost all these models of unicorn have the same issue. The look is excellent. Milenge ranging from 40-45 kmpl. Servicing and maintenance costs are average. The rear suspension is major issue and impacting on comfort. Old unicorn is good as compared to a new one.. So waste of too much money.

The buying experience was a very pathetic salesman forcibly try to sale annual maintenance contract i.E. Amc so be aware of it before buying a bike. The riding of buying is like dreams come true, very smooth and maintenance-free.Talking about the look is like an old stylish bike but performance is quite impressive.Honda gives you the best quality servicing so don't worry about servicing and maintenance.I wanna say only cons because pros are very common to discuss, so let's start the cons.1.No led headlamp is a big disappointment from honda. 2.No mudguard for the mono-shock rear suspension.3.The old style features 4.No hazard indicator in this pricey segment.5. Corrosive metals used hence get corrugated easily.

Long riding is not much comfortable, service is not good, and Showrooms are just running for generating income for dealers. If you go for this bike You will be visually impaired during night rides. People think that Unicorn is better for a smooth ride but it hasn't improved in a few years. This twice before you go for this.

  • This Bike never went out of style.

    Sekhar Dinda

I purchased this bike in 2008 and it was the limited edition black with red graphics from Bhandup. At that time this colour scheme was very unique and buying was also hassle-free. It was our first bike and I can proudly say I could not have been more satisfied. Honda Unicorn is an all-rounder bike from my personal experience. The ride and build quality, mileage, fit and finish, paint job, suspension everything was top-notch. I usually commute around 80-90 km every day through the city as well as the highway. Due to its weight at high speeds on highways, it never trembled and was nimble enough for easy manoeuvrability in city traffic. The front shocks and rear Monoshock did their job pretty well on bad roads as well as in monsoon.
Look it did have some major rivals back then missing out on led taillights and indictors, LCD displays and a few more yet it had some different appeal for the way it carried out itself because as soon as I hopped on it and went for a ride I clearly understood the reason for owing it also this specific colour became my favourite. The engine was very smooth as one can expect from Honda till today the engine has maintained its charateristics. The power is very linear and easy to use in city rides and after 5000 rpm the power output came strong so it had no problem in the city nor in highways. I could easily get an average of 60kmpl on highways and around 45 to 50 kmpl in city traffic which was quite satisfying considering the soaring petrol prices. The seat was broad and cushioned enough this make long rides very comfortable for both rider and pillion, the upright handlebars and seating positions eased out commuting. Honda did a very good job there with its Ergonomics. There is a helmet holder down to the left side which is a clever thing and often comes in handy.
The servicing and maintenance in the early stages were as directed by the service centre and later according to our usage. The overall cost of servicing was nominal for a 150cc bike. General servicing included oil change, air and oil filter change etc which didn't cost much also the parts were of top-notch quality so the wear and tear was also minimal. It has always been reliable and robust in nature. All of them and even I suggest that periodic servicing is very essential for the bike to be smooth and efficient. Check for any unusual noises, periodic checking for coolant and engine oil, and look for the parts that have a higher wear and tear . Keep the bike well maintained for your own and other's safety.
Honda's today's mid-segment bike has grown tremendously, even there are certain bikes in Honda which out perform unicorns in many aspects be it in power or aesthetics. But if had to choose any bike today in that segment i would still go for a Unicorn undoubtedly.
    Pros-
    Good built quality.
    Smooth and reliable engine.
    Good ergonomics.
    Low maintenance.
    Cons-
Digital meters and led lights are missing.
Certain advanced features do miss out.

  • Experience about our unicorn

    Md Usama

My uncle bought it. Last they have unicorn and now they using bs4 version. When I was trying to ride a bike or while learning. I felt so confident on unicorn. The power performance for a middle-class is amazing. Work of suspension is ideal/best for indian roads. Words cant describe to thank Honda to give us such a masterpiece. We suggest our family members, friends & relatives to choose unicorn as their hum-safar. Because no any another option instead of our unicorn.

I owned this bike last 1 month I'm facing issues while riding, getting shockupser-related weird sounds and its headlight quality is also not good compared to other bikes like Splendor bikes etc.
I think last previous bikes were good quality and riding and all their parts worked smoothly

While buying unicorn our experience was very good all the concern was very co operative.Riding experience was amazing ,it is a city sport bike.Performance wise unicorn is leading bike by considering its specifications.Servicing and maintenance is not like other bike that will get affected if not done.Unicorn is overall a mature bike like a professional man ..One last thing as we can see unicorn is a bike which is from bs3---bs4, now waiting for bs6.

  • Noticeable improvement points for the honda engineers.

    Vaibhav
