The Indian Chieftain Elite is a product that promises exclusivity, as it is a hand-painted product. No two Chieftain Elites will be the same, and the paintjob takes 25 hours to complete. Guaranteeing that it will be rare is the fact that it is limited to a run of just 350 units, with an unnamed number for the Indian market.
The Chieftain Elite gets unique ten-spoke wheels, a 200W RMS audio system with four speakers, billet aluminium floorboards, chrome mirrors, a premium leather seat, and a tinted windshield. In addition, it gets the seven-inch colour touchscreen instrument cluster that offers a wealth of information. It has Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation, and displays vehicle information and status as well.
The engine powering the Chieftain Elite is the 1811cc V-twin ‘Thunderstroke’ 111 engine that generates 162Nm at 3000rpm. It needs that torque, as the bike weighs 388kg. The competition includes the Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special, Honda Goldwing GL1800 and BMW K 1600 B.
