Reviews of Jawa 42 [2018-2023]

I bought this bike with a total on-road price of 2.48 Lakhs in Bengaluru.
This bike is an absolute masterpiece as compared to its RE and other rivals.
It just looks retro-classy feels more comfortable and easier to ride and better turning radius than the RE classic version.
I got around 2000 for service.
Pros:
1. Better riding position even for short people (5.5 ft) on average.
2. Doesn't feel so heavy.
3. Awesome exhaust.
Cons:
1. I think the service cost is higher than RE.
2. Expensive spare parts.
3. Low mileage and more fuel efficiency were expected.

It was a pleasure to hear that jawas were coming again...Rode yezdi in bangalore...Very old model...I guess it was 1968-1969...But always powerful n full of fun...Buying the bike was very easy...Take it the way u want to...Emi or one shot payment...Got it in 10-12 after booking...Took test drive of 42 n perak...Chose 42 as perak had much long waiting...Stance between 42 n standard is minor different so choose the way u like it...All new technology now...It misses onto some points...Kick start should be there...Has a different feel...Trip meter not there...Looks are to die for...Ppl will stop you and ask about your bike for sure...Attention will be given where ever you would stop or ride...It's a headturner...Service is easy...It's a very maintainable bike...Service cost would be under 2000...Also if it is under warranty parts would be changed free of cost...Pros Good bike for ppl under 5'8" Handling is easy...Brakes are pretty good...Powerful engine with less sound Light weight in comparison to the rivals Cons: Felt little vibration after crossing 110 however how many time u go that fast Seat is pretty stiff.

I bought this bike with true love but I was disappointed at the way my bike engine got killed in just 6000 km. They serviced it but it hasn't been the same till now and I am facing a lot of problems in the bike but I cant fix this because they closed the service center from Agra this month. Till today I rode approximately 8200 kms in 5 months and my both shockers are not working from last 2 months and after that my bike engine also is giving very bad sound and heating issue too is there too much. But the worst part is I can't service my bike in Agra, I have to take it to the nearby city where the service center is available but I can't because my bike is not in that condition and if I drive it for more than 200 km it will definitely get a breakdown. However the looks are always great and I got different accessories for it and the performance is good but need more improvement/

Have a Jawa 42 starlight blue since oct'20.Brilliant experience right from the test drive. The staff at the dealership is extremely courteous(Noida) and gave me all basic accessories free.
Ride-vibration free powerful performance, great exhaust note that can be adjusted at the service center for bass/loudness. Does not copy re thump. 27bhp@300 cc
Looks-gets a lot of eye balls when on the road none looks like it in the segment.
Service easy on the pocket 6000 km interval or 6 months/uses very less engine oil
It has a radiator so blows hot air through a fan and coolant, people think its getting this is not the case!
Con-low ground clearance due to center stand, adjusted suspension and tyre pressure @35psi fixes it.
Seat is hard-spent 1400 to add extra cushion.

In my 35 years of experience, one of the worst bikes I have, and the service is very poor. Maintenance cost is very high. Apart from insurance, they asked me to put rsa. Even for a week if the bike is not started the battery gets drained due to a poor charging coil. Around 17500km runs disk break getting noise. Very very worst bike. Please do not go for it.

I have booked this bike, major drawback is that it has a long waiting period ranging from 05 to 06 months. I have taken a test ride on that and seen it has best option under 02 lakhs category and best then royal enfield. I am planning to buy royal enfield thunderbird 350x but changed my plan and book jawa.

Classic variant design looks good. Long riding is not comfortable as so much heat is produced from engine. Tank capacity is low. Speedometer is not comfortable and ground clearance is very low with unsatisfied riding. Suspension is so hard. Radiator sound is heavy. Not value for value unlike Royal Enfield Classic 350. Totally a Light weight machine.

It is costly. If you like you will buy with an EMI. It very great bike. I use it mostly for long rides. And also comfortable. Very very interesting. Servicing costs it too much high.
