Ninja 1000sx review - a superbike
Praveen
I got my ninja 1000sx last Diwali; it has been smooth sailing. The engine is butter smooth and the muted exhaust whine is the 4 cylinder symphony I always wanted. The stock suspension set-up is on the softer side and needs to be set up according to your weight which i did. The seats are super comfortable and the riding position is also primarily upright. The wide handlebars make the handling easier. The bike is on the taller side, but your nothing that your confidence can't overcome. The windscreen looks good but is largely useless. Even kawasaki's optional large windscreen does not improve the protection from windblasts. I put on a puig aftermarket one and it made a world of difference. The tyres offer excellent grip in the dry but i was not too comfortable in the wet (maybe it's just me struggling in the rain). When the tyres are due for a change i will probably choose the battlax t32 (the ones on the versys) for better-wet grip. I mostly ride it on the highways and take it out in the city only for servicing. The city rides are not fun as the engine heats up all of that heat and you will feel cooked. The bike has the low ground clearance and i have to slow down and watch every speed breaker. Sometimes i end up scraping the belly pan if I'm not slow enough. This bike will take you far and fast. I prefer the far part and occasionally fast. You can comfortably cruise at triple-digit speeds all day without fatigue. Taller riders will feel the windblasts at really high speeds. My two favourite features are the cruise control and the quick shifter. Needless to say, the ninja is a looker. The ninja is a gentle beast. Don't get me wrong it's still green and mean but the power is linear and accessible. Torque is available at any rpm in any gear. Overall ninja gives you ~80% of the features other litre class bikes have at half the price.

Best bike i have ever used. Can be used for long distance journeys. Bit pricy, but according to specifications and looks the bike looks cheaper. Riding experience is very amazing. Servicing cost is bit pricy and cannot easily locate the workshops. Cons is that please wear helmet and ride it safely even though it is a superbike.
