15000+ km

Buying experience:This was the best part of the ownership. Walked in to the dealership and i just gawked at the motorcycle. It looked beautiful parked there. The size is perfect and the design clues from the elder sibling zx10r could be seen. The dealership provided all the help with the loan and with a booking amount of 35k, they did the pdi. I could ride off with the motorcycle the same day i chose to buy it. No waiting hassle and it was all sweet.Riding experience:Butter smooth engine with almost no vibrations at all. The first 1600 kms were a test of patience. I took a small 500 km round trip to my parent's house for the initial running in on the next day of purchase. Maintaining the 60 km/hr break in limit during this trip was the toughest thing i have done on this motorcycle. However, once the running in was done, i got to flex the parallel twin to the 13,000 rpm red line and boy what a sound this engine has. I have also ridden other motorcycles with parallel twin engines like the yamaha r3 but this one is exquisite! it doesn't pull hard like the ktms in its initial rev range but becomes totally alive past 7000 rpm. For cruising, 90 km/hr is the sweet spot as at that speed it goes completely smooth and silent. The bike is heavy and fat though and the weight can be felt on the ghat roads. The stock tyres that i got (irc) didn't help much either as they are unpredictable with the grip limits they have. The brakes are progressive and have adequate stopping power but lack bite which was needed to control the momentum. About riding experience, i can say its bittersweet. It suits my requirement but those wanting to throw it around tracks might find other bikes like ktm easier to maneuver. This bike loves to be revved but i wish the riding dynamics were slightly better. Oh! its comfortable though. Very comfortable. I can do many hours of riding without getting tired. The handlebar position is perfect and it feels just about right. Suspension is perfect too.Looks and performance:The area where this machine beats anything else hands down are the looks. From every angle, it looks perfectly well proportioned and beautiful. I have even looked at it lying down on the road. It is just more beautiful than anything worth the same price out there. When you ride it, people just look at you. This thing is quite a head turner and if somebody fails to see it, you can rev it on your way out on the road and the exhaust note does the job. It sounds much more expensive than what it costs. The performance is adequate. Its not the fastest accelerating bike out there but it certainly does it in the most charismatic manner. The weight is a let down and the bike runs out of steam at around 160 km/hr. On a longer stretch, you might see 170 km/hr if you tuck down behind the tiny windscreen that does nothing to shield your head from the wind blast. I am happy with it and on our Indian roads, there isn't much where i can use the entire potential of the engine.Servicing and maintenance:Bad. Just bad. This one section drops the entire machine down to four stars from five. Kawasaki has lost it. After about a year of ownership, you are looking at a new chain-set which costs 21,000. Each service costs 7,000+. One indicator that i cracked costs 4400. Fairing for one side is 40,000 plus. The brake pads cost 6600 a set. Everything is just so expensive and there are parts on hayabusa that cost less. The maintenance costs are similar to those of a 1000 cc motorcycle and that does not seem fair. Although you do get the best quality everything but at a price that kawasaki seriously needs to check. Buying is easy, but maintaining it is a regular painful experience and i might look elsewhere for my next bike. (are you listening kawasaki?)Overall it is a brilliant motorcycle which now comes at a reasonable price and with abs too. Its easy to ride for amateurs and can teach motorcycle dynamics for future upgrades pretty well. Its forgiving, its comfortable and very refined but you can almost clearly tell that the maintenance costs are a deal breaker for many potential buyers that end up with ktms that performs better, costs less to own and maintain but at a compromise on build quality.Pros:Good looks Engine sound Linear power Looks and feels expensive Fuel economical with a big tank and a 500 km range.Cons:Maintenance costs Braking power Weight.

Perfect commuter and bike to start racing. Easily reaches 160-170. Max up to 195.
Worth every penny, it reliable commute with amazing ride quality and control. Standout looks like a predecessor for zx10r.
Affordable service costs bit these are high-performance mean machines. So, you need to feed them the best.
Pros: looks, low maintenance, great mileage.

The bike was launched a long time before ,but i must say ,that no one can mess with the daddy. This bike is old enough but still it wins the race with ktm rc390 and other bikes of the price almost same as its . And also ,the most important thing i love about his bike is its top speed . Other bikes may get ahead in start but then ninja 300 overtakes them by its high speed. The problem with this bike is only its weight ,if it is removed the bike will be perfect as hell. And also the seat height would be better if increased a little. Thank you.

This bike is awesome! bought it in jan'19. Have been using it for daily commute, and a few rides.Pros - great handling, great refinement, amazing fit n finish, super heat management, good comfort (pillion is way more comfortable than r3, or the ktm), linear power delivery, awesome abs response. Some cons - changed the stock tyres with pirelli diablo rosso ii (the stock didn't provide the confidence. Also there was a wobble issue that was gone after the tyre change), ground clearance is a bit less for standard Indian roads (have to be very careful in the humps), maintenance cost is similar to a big super sport (which i find is not worth) even though spares cost less now. (clutch wire was ~250/- and fitting chage was ~400/-)But even with those cons, everytime i take this machine on the road, its just bliss!

Amazing engine pickup and steady ride. Abs braking helps you with a sturdy control. Shocks are really well built and gives you the required comfort on bumpy roads as well. You will love the engine sound and exhaust. You can run up-to a top speed of 190 kmph which is really a stunner for a 300 cc bike. You can beat duke 390.

    Ramanand

Buying and riding experience was beautiful. Its my first bike, loved it. It gives mileage upto 28 in city [60 -90kmph] and 22-25[100kmph+] on highways. Its been a year now, beautiful performance and design. For almost 1000 kms ,the service cost is 4k to 5k,depends on way u maintain .So far only one con, little tough in city drive, mainly near speed breakers.

    Mann

Pros:-Awesome bike to ride.Handling, pick up all good...Looks...No one can't stop starring when you are on it....Tire grips good on road. You guys can commute daily on this speed machine. I also don't feel restless while riding this bike.Cons:-One main issue with kawasaki is it's service network...Company should work on decreasing its service cost & expand its service network all over India.
