The Kawasaki Ninja 500 is the Japanese manufacturer’s latest supersport motorcycle. It sits above the Ninja 300 and the Ninja 400 and is priced exactly as much as the latter. It is available in one variant and one colour only.
In terms of design, the Ninja 500 bears the new Kawasaki family look of its supersport motorcycles. Thus, it gets a sharp face with twin LED headlights, layered style fairing that sits cleanly with the fuel tank, and a raised tail section. It looks, in many respects, like a scaled-down Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.
Powering the bike is a brand-new 451cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 45bhp at 9,000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6,000rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox that features assist and slip function to prevent rear wheel locking during aggressive downshifts.
Coming to the chassis, the Ninja 500 gets a trellis frame suspended by a 41mm telescopic fork and a monoshock. The bike rides on alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. Braking is taken care of by a 310mm disc at the front and a 220m disc at the back. The bike weighs 171kg, which is light for a near-500cc bike.
Kawasaki has offered a decent set of features with the Ninja 500. You’ve got all-LED lights, dual-channel ABS, and an LCD display with Bluetooth connectivity.
At Rs. 5.24 lakh, ex-showroom, the Ninja 500 is an expensive bike, being a CBU import. Its rival, the Yamaha R3 is also a CBU, but priced much lower. Meanwhile, the Aprilia RS457 on account of being manufactured in India holds a significant price advantage over these Japanese bikes.

1. Behaviour while test ride, response while booking, and cooperation while servicing showroom members matters a lot and all these things are done by them. 2. You can't imagine a lot of things that matter with this machine, The beautiful Super Machine. 3. Everything is just fine, it's engine, it's performance. 4. A responsible rider should be aware of everything related to servicing and maintenance. It depends on the rider. 5. Pros are everything and cons are like nothing.
