The Ninja H2 SX is a supercharged sports tourer from Kawasaki. It’s essentially a more comfortable, touring-centric iteration of the brand’s track-focussed missile, the Ninja H2.
The design of the SX is similar to that of the sportbike to some extent but there are some clear differences to give away the former’s touring intentions. The SX comes with a tall and bulbous windscreen, larger rider seat, pillion seat, grab handles, taller handlebar, and footpegs with more forward-set positioning. However, with a centre-set headlamp flanked by large air intakes and vertical slats, it’s unmistakably a Ninja H2.
The motorcycle uses a 998cc, inline four-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with a six-speed gearbox. The supercharged motor produces a healthy 197.2bhp of maximum power at 11,000rpm and 137.3Nm of peak torque at 8,500rpm. The gearbox benefits from an assist and slipper clutch mechanism and a bi-directional quickshifter.
The feature list on the Ninja H2 SX comprises full-LED lighting, cornering lights, 6.5-inch colour-TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, tyre pressure monitoring system, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot detection. Additionally, it receives Kawasaki intelligent anti-lock brake system, engine brake control, launch control, traction control, power modes, vehicle hold assist, forward collision alert, and an emergency stop signal. It also gets the Kawasaki Intelligent Proximity Activation Start System.
The motorcycle is already available in select international markets where it is sold in a single paint option – Emerald Blazed Green/Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Graphite Grey. It gets a full-fairing design, tall windscreen, muscular fuel tank, step-up seat, and a side-slung exhaust.
The suspension setup on the Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX comprises 43mm inverted front forks and a gas-charged rear monoshock. The setup at the front is adjustable for rebound and compression damping and spring preload. The rear features compression (high/low-speed) and rebound damping and remote spring preload adjustability. The braking tasks are handled by twin 320mm discs with dual radial-mount, monobloc, opposed four-piston callipers at the front and a single 250mm rotor with a two-piston calliper at the back.

before equipping myself with Kawasaki’s 2022 iteration of their supercharged super tourer, the H2 SX SE, I was expecting my flabber to be ghasted by its performance and prowess, and certainly overwhelmed. This latest version of the rather batty model introduced in 2018 remains as a 197bhp armchair, except it boasts more tech as Kawasaki’s latest gen TFT screen plus adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, and a forward collision warning system have all been installed. The SE model comes with additional goodies in the shape of electronic ‘skyhook’ suspension and Brembo Stalemate caliper s on the front, which is all very lovely when it comes to bouncing about on Norfolk’s coastal roads and then stopping occasionally, sometimes abruptly for tractors, wildlife, tourists, etc.
