Kawasaki launched the 2022 Versys 650 in India at Rs 7.36 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It received some notable updates for 2022 including design tweaks and new features as well. Kawasaki offers the Versys 650 in India in two paint schemes: Lime green and Metallic Phantom Silver.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 gets a sharp-looking split LED headlight setup. It’s topped with a four-step adjustable transparent windscreen. Aiding its ADV nature is the tall stance with an upright seating posture, courtesy of the tall handlebar and centre-set footpegs.
It’s powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that makes 66bhp of power and 61Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox and gets a slipper clutch too. It’s placed in a steel frame that is suspended on 41mm USD forks with preload and rebound adjustability. At the rear, it gets an offset remote preload-adjustable monoshock.
The braking setup on the Kawasaki Versys 650 comprises dual 300mm front discs and a 250mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloys wrapped in a 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tyre.
On the feature front, the Kawasaki Versys 650 gets LED illumination, a 4.3-inch TFT screen and a USB charging port as well. The console allows you to pair your smartphone using Bluetooth. The bike also comes with a two-stage traction control system that can be completely turned off.
The Kawasaki Versys 650 gets a 21-litre fuel tank and tips the weighing scale at 219kg. It rivals the Triumph Tiger Sport 660, Honda CB500X and the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT.

The performance of the bike is perfect for all occasions. If you want to ride fast you can enjoy the high-rev motor. Ride in the city, it gets hot in bumper-to-bumper traffic with a hot climate but as soon as you start rolling it fades away. Plenty of accessories options and maintenance is nominal unless you want to do all bad riding and screw up the bike. Overall a very versatile bike if compared to other competitors. The bike feels heavy on some terrains but get used to it and you will enjoy the rest of the ownership.
