The Versys 650 has steadily been gaining competition, so Kawasaki has decided to launch the 2019 version of its product. The updated version of the Versys 650 has a new decal scheme, involving green highlights on black. The tank is grey. There is nothing else that has changed about the Versys 650.
Not that it needed it – it still has the tractable liquid-cooled 649cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 67.4bhp and 64Nm of torque. It also retains the adjustable suspension, with the preload and rebound-adjustable front and preload-adjustable rear. It still retains 17-inch alloy wheels with road-biased tyres. Spoked rims and dual-sport tyres are not an option. The electronics suite consists of fuel injection and ABS.
The 2019 Kawasaki Versys 650 competes with the Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT and the SWM Superdual T in India.

Versys 650 is a complete package bike. Suits my height (i'm 5.11) so no issues on the seat height. Very comfortable seating position and suspension setup which are the two most important aspect for touring bike. The ride quality is very good and can take you to serious speeds on open highways. Kawasaki service is a hit or miss but spares are very costly and not readily available with the dealer. I was going to book tiger 800 xr and after taking a test ride or tiger 800 xr and versys 650 back to back, i zeroed on versys 650 since its matching around 90% of tiger's performance and with the price difference of 5 lakhs versys 650 was a winner for me (don't mistake me, tiger is a better bike but considering that i would not take the bike more of offroad, i picked versys). Overall, very much happy with the purchase and hope to munch many miles on my kawasaki versys 650.
