With front disc and rear drum brakes, Kawasaki W175 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This W175 bike weighs 135 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 12 liters.

Kawasaki India has launched its most-affordable model, the W175 in our market. This retro-style motorcycle is available in two variants – Standard and Special Edition, and it competes in the same price range as the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 and TVS Ronin.

While the standard version will be available in the Ebony paint scheme, the Special Edition will boast the bold Candy Persimmon Red colour. The difference between the two options is limited to the paint themes.

The mechanical specifications on the W175 include a BS6-compliant 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. Linked to a five-speed gearbox, the motor is tuned to deliver a maximum output of 12.8bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 13.2Nm at 6,000rpm.

The hardware comprises a double-cradle chassis while the suspension tasks are handled by telescopic front forks and twin rear springs. The braking setup includes a single 270mm petal-type rotor at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the back while the safety net comprises a single-channel ABS. Kawasaki W175 Review

  • Good Things

    • Looks decent when it comes to aesthetics
    • Part of a premium brand
    • Kerb weight is quite less
  • Could be Better

    • Poor performance numbers
    • Pricing is high
    • Motorcycle lacks aspiration

BikeWale's Take

The W175 is the most affordable Kawasaki in India. This modern retro motorcycle has been launched to help brand get additional market share. However, this bike has poor performance numbers due to which it is not at all aspirational.

      Problems are:
Engine overheated: After covering around 20-30 kms, the engine gets very hot. Even my legs get too hot which makes it difficult to drive
Vehicle pickup: When I have to cross a level road, I have to put it in first gear, this kind of problem requires me to change gears more often and it takes a lot of effort to drive the vehicle.
Wobbling: If the vehicle speed exceeds 60 km, the handle shakes a lot
Petrol gauge: The petrol level in the tank is not visible properly
Millage: an average millage comes 20-22 km

This bike is so good. Riding is comfortable, fantastic look, the best performance, and easy servicing and maintenance.
Pros: Classic styling, reliable performance, good fuel efficiency, comfortable ride.
Cons: Limited power for highway speeds, basic features compared to modern bikes, might lack advanced technology.

      Fabulous modern classic..!

      Chaitanya Mangisetty

Amazing ownership - I used it for daily errands and joy rides. Very comfortable, and stable, with tall gearing so takes getting used to, a smooth engine and transmission, proper retro feel with modern components. A no-nonsense modern classic which super easy to ride, fun in city streets and can cruise comfortably on countryside open roads. One point to be noted strongly though - only those who seek, understand and appreciate modern classics will truly enjoy this machine. Otherwise please feel free to buy an Apache or Pulsar be happy!

Raised a petition: https://chng.it/ZJrpvyMHyQ please check as the below are the health hazards due to the Wi175 Engine Overheating to more than 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Will Run a campaign to educate the Kawasaki W175 owners/buyers about substandard designed low-quality bikes are sold and being sold by Kawasaki even after clearly knowing it has engine overheating problem and this needs to be stopped and Kawasaki fined for damaging human health even after knowing that exposure of the human leg from thigh to ankle to temperatures around & beyond 100 degrees Fahrenheit will potentially cause a range of problems - 1. Skin damage will occur through the formation of blisters and other burns.
      2. The sweat glands will also be triggered, which can lead to dehydration if not addressed soon. Long-term exposure to such temperatures can cause permanent pigment changes, as well as damage to the blood vessels in the skin.
      So, please

Beautiful Classic Motorcycle from Retro Era

      Rohan

The buying experience of this motorcycle was superb. This motorcycle comes from a premium brand which delivers top-notch quality products you can feel. Talking about the riding experience of this motorcycle is fantastic. It is just fun to ride a motorcycle. Torkey nature pulls the bike very effortlessly. You need to understand that, this is not a performance motorcycle. It is a classic-looking motorcycle which gives pure fun to ride joy. Perfectly balanced classy bike. I had good experience in servicing and maintenance with Kawasaki as always, very good. And talking about the pros and cons of this motorcycle, it's a Japanese Kawasaki motorcycle and we all know how they make their products.. top-notch quality.. brilliant.

I purchased Kawasaki W175 after taking test ride. Looking at specs like low kerb weight and retro looks I considered giving it a try and it impressed me the moment I sat on it… easy, nimble and nippy… this bike has a very smooth ride quality, looks decent bigger than everyday commuter and definitely attention grabber. I have completed my first service which was hassle free costing around 2500 bucks. A very reliable and low maintenance bike which gives a great pleasurable driving experience. I don’t complain about console or spoke tyres but it could have been tubeless tyres and a little more torque would have made wonders for this bike. I have driven it through pothole ridden road and in rainy conditions… it shows very good stability with decent shock absorbers. This bike has a rugged character and a retro charm. I love this bike!

PLEASE ASK Kawasaki to share the Automobile Research Authority of India (ARAI) issued Endurance Test Certificate wherein the recommended temperature as per ARAI for a 180cc bike when run for 10 minutes at a steady speed of 40+ Kmph should be around 68°F which is healthy. Not around and beyond 100°F

      Brand is not important

I bought this bike in January 2023, and the bike is producing overheating which is unbearable, within 5kms it is producing overheating here I worked shoes while driving, and from the first month have started complaining about the issue to the showroom, service center, and customer support till now no solution. Service center people always say cooked-up stores, last month (June) they told me the company is recalling bikes. Today 3rd Aug 23 company is not calling for a recall. Just made time, and my bike is ideal at home since January am not evening driving I have driven only 1000km till now. I suggest not buying this by looking at fake reviews, brand is nothing these days, based on the brand company selling very cheap products. I never expected this kind from Kawasaki.
Now I will tell you how was interaction with the showroom.
Visited the showroom sales agent don’t have any bike knowledge Means product knowledge of Kawasaki w175.
I asked service cost for this bike they said no idea
.” No free service is given for this bike “, they will not revile until you buy a bike.
they will just its a premium bike.
They won’t give any discount, simply say premium bike.
And the service cost is very high labor charges are 1300 for the first service these are standard they won’t do much work in 1 service( oil change, filter change, lubricants chain, just check breakers that are all the total bill will be 3000 or more.
About the heating issue, they will say after 1 service it will get solved.
here is the story will begin you will complain showroom, service customer service and you will get fed up. They will say the company is going to come up with a solution. More insurance will get wast if you don’t drive a bike. I requested whoever bought this bike asked them to give a job card or letter from the service center that the bike is producing overheating. That will help file complaints in consumer court it’s a suggestion.
For More info, you can reach me, whoever bought this bike all suffering

This bike reminds me of a con artist. It has the name of Kawasaki but it lacks anything which Kawasaki has as default! Look at it does it feel even like a 210k bike? With such poor power & torque with no modern technology, even my dadaji says it is horrible enough to be called a daddu (dumb) bike. Kawasaki, I have deep respect for you, so kindly launch a 400cc naked with the dual cylinder at an attractive price!
