Overall, The kawasaki z900 is a well-rounded motorcycle that delivers a thrilling riding experience, And is a great choice for those looking for a fun and practical motorcycle.
A very smooth and linear engine that has very good low end torque and easy drive-ability. The low speed behavior of the bike is really great and the bike is happy to go at 55 kmph in 6th gear. The top end of the engine is really something as well and unless you are coming from a 200 BHP supersport, you won't have any complaints. The only thing I would I have liked more would have been a higher red line as I find myself hitting the rev-limiter often when I am accelerating hard, especially in the first 3 gears.
Fueling is spot on at all RPMs and there are no jerks rolling on/off the throttle but there is a little snatch in the very beginning which I thought was an issue with the throttle free-play but seems like I'll just have to live with it. There is a slight buzz above 7k RPM but it is much more refined than the Suzuki 750 or the Triumph ST RS.
Vibrations and low end jerkiness have come in to play since year 2 but the low end jerkiness is solved by using XP95 fuel. The vibrations are somewhat solved after a full service.
    Rating - 9/10.

I haven't purchased the z900, I ride my friend's z900, and its crazy gear shifter is awesome and sounds fire. It looks so cool, and the perfect performance is very well. I loved it. Kawasaki gives good service and maintenance is too tough. But for us, 8t doesn't matter. More it becomes my dream bike.

The performance of the bike is the best at this price point.
The only issue is the factory seat is very hard but it can be changed by adding aftermarket accessories.
The mileage of bikes is nice on the highway.
Touring on this bike should not be a problem if you maintain a speed of 120km/h but for anything above it you will feel the air pushing you back though this issue can be solved by using a wind deflector you should be aware that it's a naked bike.

  • Z900 - A Real Super Bike

    Amit Ranjan

Hi, This is the first Super Awesome Superbike that I gifted to myself on my bday(3 weeks ago). And yes it's not my dad's money. It's my own hard-earned money.
I wanted to own a superbike & was a little skeptical about the Kawasaki brand reputation(service/maintenance). As for the premium bike segment in my hometown, there are Kawasaki and BMW showrooms only. For any other bike, Kolkata is the nearest place to visit. Earlier I was thinking of 650CC bikes - Continental GT650, Z650, CB650R , Z650RS , MotoMorini Twins. The budget was 8lakhs.
So when heard about the newly inaugurated Kawasaki Showroom in my hometown, rushed there, after hearing that Z900 was on display. Was awestricken by the looks & after going thru a lot of Youtube videos and reviews, settled for Z900.
    1. Buying Experience - That was great. Got delivered the same day as committed. The staff were cooperative and well-behaved.
    2. Riding - FIRST RIDING EXPERIENCE - You'll enjoy the response from the engine and exhaust. While getting the delivery(I had never ridden any superbike in my life) was quite nervous as I had to drive 120 km to reach my home and on a brand new superbike. This machine shoots like a wild boar. Anyways after driving merely 8-10 km, this machine gave me confidence that you aint a naïve rider. It was like my Z was saying to me to open the throttle and enjoy the ride. Loved that feeling. It's comfortable for highways / stretched roads. In normal city traffic, this is not the bike you want. It heats up very arrogantly.
    3. Looks and Performance - 10/10. Head turner.
    4. Service/maintenance - In a few days, I have my first Service Date. See it's a superbike so you need to be prepared. I am expecting 10-12K per service. Which is OK with me. Also spent 40K on accessories like crash protection, spools, tank pads, etc.
    Final Verdict
It's a superbike. You can't keep it like any other 150-200cc bike unless you are financially strong. These bikes come with a high maintenance cost and care as well. I spent almost 40K in buying accessories just for protecting the bike.
I will share a few cons and except these all are PROS
    1. Gear Shifting is not smooth. Very noisy gear shifting. might give you heart attacks.
    2. Seats aren't very much comfortable for both Rider/Pillion. For riders - in one sitting you can easily stretch 80-100 kms. For short rides like <50kms it's good.
    3. Not for city rides(especially in summers). Heats up very quickly.
    4. Tyres are not good enough to handle wet and slippery roads, otherwise it has a nice grip on a dry, rough, and hard surface.
    5. Maintenance is high

Drive responsibly. For rest follow the Kawasaki guidelines/ any superbike expert technician/mechanic.

  • Z900 still value for money?

    Satyam

Owning this bike - there's a Spider verse Saying - With great power comes great responsibilities. This is a power packed super machine so you need patience and control on both(You and Your Machine). 1. Do not share with everyone. 2. Respect the bike. Avoid stunts/rash driving. 3. Drive responsibly. For rest follow the Kawasaki guidelines/ any superbike expert technician/mechanic.

Riding experience awesome . There was 2 option to buy another bike but still I will chose this only because of that sounds, and pickup every thing. And comfortable is too good. After a long ride, u can't say any ergonomics hazard u find.So you if you are planning to buy your good way you can continue.
