Great Bike / Pros & Cons
Mayur Kanekar
I bought the DUKE 390 GEN 3 ORANGE on 06/09/2024, and I’m absolutely in love with this bike.Pros:1) The bike is incredibly powerful—it’s a monster on the road. No other bike in this segment performs better.2) It’s strictly made for performance-oriented riders, which is the most important aspect of this bike. It’s a no-nonsense machine.3) The bike is well-balanced and powerful, with a great design that bike lovers will appreciate. Every second of riding this bike is enjoyable.4) Overall, KTM offers a good package at this price range.Cons:1) The GPS navigation is useless and doesn’t work well.2) Better grip tyres are needed for optimal performance. They could provide better tyres without increasing the current price.3) Riding with a pillion is not a good idea with this bike.

This bike is mind mind-blowing machine. Cornering, Willy, and Stoppy also stunt bikes. The most powerful machine is the race. Low maintenance and best performance. Service costs warry low and this bike oil and maintenance work is only suggested to the KTM service center. Property raw power machine in India. One of the best stunt bikes is the KTM Duke 390.

Journey from August 2018 to 89000km

Bikonomy Xpress
1. I purchased in August 2018 and it was difficult to find Orange but White was readily available. 2. I buy it for highway riding only to free from the shackles of rail and airlines. 3. Gen 2/Bharat IV was the first Indian launch which was launched world wide with same features and looks. Unlike before, KTM decided not to create disparity between Indian users and users across world especially Europe.4. It needs genuine parts which are only available at service centre. Regular service irrespective of KMs run make the bike readily available for highway use. It needs maintenance of chain lube/clean and oil spray on electrical during winter.Pros: - Excellent power to weight ration.- All the Bajaj Dominar parts are inter changeable i.e. from nut to piston head- Same as international model launched.- Highest number of service centres compared to Kawasaki, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, Honda Premium segment, Suzuki Premium Segment, Indian, Harley. - Tyre options available from Ceat to Michelin.- Can go non stop 6000km or 800KM/Day.- It can go without starting radiator for 800km if highway air keep on falling on engine.- An option for users who need more than utility bike but cannot afford 600cc cateogry.Cons- Not at all for city use which is widely misinformed among users.- City air is insufficient and thus, start radiator at once decreasing mileage and gulping petrol.- Only available to those retailers which sell Dominar parts ie. 400cc category.- Not for beginners. - Service cost is more than utility bikes but less than 600cc category.- Chain needs cleaning and lubing at every 400-600km, depending upon the road cleanliness. - Out of bound for local mechanic.- One part failure can make you strand anywhere.

Tips for other riders
- Out of 89000KM, My city ride is 20% and highway is 89%. Less drive on city and more on highway shall prolong the engine life. - Air filter at 3000 and oil filter at 5000km make my engine overhaul at 87550, highest in the history of service centre. - I use genuine parts only. - My Duke 390 2018 is highest running bike in 3 service centres of Delhi(as told by service centre) - I keep the bike covered when not in use. - I keep the front shocker cups clean DAILY. My first shocker leak occurred after 55000KM and that too, only in one. - I have adjusted the mono shock as per my weight. I adjust it more if luggage is added. - I check tyre pressure every 2-3 days. - I clean my chain at every 400km in city and 600km at highway. - I use Motul only. - I change coolant twice. 1st change runs from April to September and 2nd change runs from October to March. - I never handed over my bike to any other person. - I have not used any custom part, electrical accessory or anything. - I am using small fog lights with couplers and brackerts. When in city, I remove them and install the OEM bolts. - Whenever I ride for more than 3000km non stop, I change the oil /oil filter after returning home. - I check the fuse box and conditions of fuses every year especially before rain.
