I own ktm duke 250 bs6, 18k+ km covered in 17 monthsThe ride experience is good, very smooth, and instant power its an all-rounder bike very flexible and adapts to different riding conditions, easy to ride in city traffic and has amazing flickability, for highway conditions the bike is very comfortable for long rides, ergonomics is great, riding position is very apt, i haven't tried riding bike in off-road conditions.Looks are very sporty and head turner, very detailed metallic tanks are a few good takeaways, aggressively styled full led headlamp unit with drl's, seating comfort and pillion seat comfort have improved, Performance wise the bs6 version is very stable and smooth with the much-refined engine but the throttle response bit lagging compared to bs4 edition. Also, the suspension is a bit flexible but bs4 was quite stiff and strong, with dual channel abs providing great control and brakes smooth and effortless. The slipper clutch provides better and fast shifting with proper technique and can shift gears without disengaging the clutch. With a narrow power band and enormous power delivery, the shifting gears become sophisticated and need some time to understand the power band shifts smoothly this character of a narrow power band hurts the sprocket and chain which is one of the major disadvantages stock sprockets that aren't that good. You may get a lot of chain noise and often needs adjustment. Ground clearance is another major issue with bs6 model, with 151mm of clearance and the exhaust pipe coming from under the belly has reduced the heating issue but led to poor ground clearance, with pillion it easily hits the bumps and speed brakers, I haven't faced any issue hitting speed brakers while riding single.Heating issues are well handled by liquid-cooled and exhaust fans, the fans turn on often while riding under traffic conditions. Service & maintenance: easy to maintain haven't got any major issues apart from sprockets, service was under budget and doesn't burn your pockets. Pros : stability, braking, looks, performance, better mileage, comfortCons : ground clearance, sprockets/chain

Yes, the Duke 250 can be used for such a trip, it is a capable and reliable machine. It's would my first choice as a long-distance motorcycle. But it is certainly capable of making the distance and many people have ridden this bike that far and more on their 250 cc motorcycle. It may little busy at a higher speed.

Duke 250 : best naked bike in segment
Anshul Kolhatkar
The KTM Duke 250 offers thrilling performance with its agile handling and potent engine. Its sharp styling and quality components add to the appeal. The pros include a powerful single-cylinder engine, impressive acceleration, and robust brakes. The bike's lightweight chassis provides excellent maneuverability, making it fun to ride in urban traffic and on winding roads. However, the Duke 250's aggressive riding position may not suit everyone, and the firm suspension setup can be harsh on rough roads. Additionally, the limited pillion comfort and relatively small fuel tank capacity might be minor drawbacks for some riders. Overall, the KTM Duke 250 is a dynamic and exciting choice for those seeking a spirited riding experience.
