Things to Know About RC 200

KTM RC 200 Engine From Right

200cc engine offers plenty of power in the higher revs, which makes it super exciting to ride fast

KTM RC 200 Summary

Price: KTM RC 200 price for its variant - RC 200 GP Edition starts at Rs. 2,20,192. The price for the other variant - RC 200 Standard is Rs. 2,20,192. The mentioned RC 200 prices are the average ex-showroom.

KTM RC 200 is a sports bike available in 2 variants and 3 colours. The KTM RC 200 is powered by 199.5cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 24.6 bhp and a torque of 19.2 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, KTM RC 200 comes up with anti-locking braking system. This RC 200 bike weighs 160 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 13.7 liters.

After keeping it majorly unchanged for seven years, KTM has finally bestowed the RC 200 with its biggest ever update this year. All these changes promise to make it friendlier and more accessible while keeping the excitement intact.

The most prominent change is in the design department. The motorcycle now looks bigger, more mature, and less sharp than the previous bike. It also gets a new LED headlamp set up along with an LCD console that looks like the same unit we have seen on the new 250 Duke. Even the turn blinkers are now mounted on the fairing. Furthermore, the fuel tank is a larger 13.7-litre unit, as opposed to the previous bike’s 9.5-litre fuel tank.

As for the hardware, the new RC 200 is based on a split-type trellis frame with a bolted-on sub-frame, which is a departure from the outgoing bike. Moreover, the brakes and wheels are lighter for saving weight. Other hardware changes include a new WP Apex monoshock and fully adjustable handlebar risers for tweaking its ergonomics.

The 25.4bhp, 199.5cc, liquid-cooled engine of the KTM RC 200 has remained majorly unchanged. However, there’s a new larger airbox for allowing better air flow thereby making the bike more responsive and torquey. As a result of this, the top speed of the KTM RC 200 has also gone up marginally. The heating should also be better managed with a new curved radiator assembly. Lastly, KTM has made sure the new RC 200 is comfier and more spacious to ride.

The 2022 KTM RC 200 is available in two colour options including Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic. The motorcycle competes against the new Yamaha YZF R15 V4.

BikeWale's Take

The RC200 is a great aggressive looking motorcycle. It is known for its excellent handling and performance. However, it isn't an ideal bike for daily commuting nor for long distance touring.

KTM RC 200 Expert Opinion

A few days after its India launch, Bajaj invited us to ride the new RC 200 on its testing track and it felt better on almost all fronts. But the truth is most of the RC 200s will spend their lives in the city and on the highway and that calls for a comprehensive real-world test, doesn’t it?

KTM RC 200: Sportbike Thrills in a Sleek Package.

      Soumyajit Ray

      1. Buying Experience:-
The buying experience of the KTM RC 200 is generally smooth and pleasant, thanks to KTM's extensive dealership network. The dealerships are well-equipped and the staff is knowledgeable, ensuring that prospective buyers get all the information they need. Financing options are often available, making it easier for buyers to purchase the bike. Test rides are usually offered, allowing potential owners to get a feel for the bike before making a decision. Overall, KTM dealerships strive to provide a premium and hassle-free buying experience.
      2. Riding Experience:-
The KTM RC 200 delivers an exhilarating riding experience, which is one of its strongest points. The 199.5cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine is peppy and responsive, providing a thrilling ride, especially in the mid and high rev range. The bike's lightweight trellis frame and aggressive riding position contribute to its nimble and agile handling. It's particularly well-suited for city commutes and weekend rides, offering a balanced blend of comfort and sportiness. However, the aggressive riding stance can be a bit uncomfortable for longer rides, making it less ideal for touring.
      3. Details about Looks, Performance, etc.:-
Looks: The KTM RC 200 is a head-turner with its aggressive and sharp design. The full-faired bodywork, LED headlights, and sporty graphics enhance its visual appeal. The bike has a race-inspired look, which is further accentuated by the trellis frame and aerodynamic design.
Performance: The 199.5cc engine produces 25 horsepower and 19.2 Nm of torque, allowing the RC 200 to reach a top speed of around 140 km/h. The 6-speed gearbox is smooth and precise, contributing to the overall performance. The bike excels in terms of acceleration and stability, making it a joy to ride on twisty roads and city streets alike.
Handling: The RC 200's handling is one of its standout features. The WP upside-down front forks and monoshock rear suspension provide excellent feedback and stability, even at higher speeds. The bike feels planted and confident in corners, making it a great choice for spirited rides and track days.
Braking: Equipped with a 300mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc by ByBre, the RC 200 offers strong and reliable braking performance. The single-channel ABS adds an extra layer of safety, particularly during sudden braking or on slippery surfaces.
Features: The digital instrument cluster provides comprehensive information, including gear position, fuel gauge, trip meter, and more. LED lighting enhances visibility and adds to the bike's modern look.
      4. Servicing and Maintenance:-
KTM's service network is quite extensive, ensuring that owners have access to authorized service centers for maintenance and repairs. The cost of servicing and maintenance for the RC 200 is relatively reasonable, considering its performance-oriented nature. Regular maintenance, including oil changes, chain adjustments, and brake checks, is essential to keep the bike in optimal condition. Spare parts are generally available, but some components may be on the pricier side compared to other bikes in the segment.
      5. Pros and Cons:-
      Pros:
      - Aggressive and sporty design
      - Excellent handling and agility
      - Strong performance for its segment
      - High build quality and premium feel
      - Good braking performance with ABS
      - Comprehensive digital instrument cluster
      Cons:
      - Aggressive riding position may be uncomfortable for long rides
      - Lack of advanced features like riding modes and traction control
      - Limited pillion comfort
      - Some components may be expensive to replace
      Conclusion:-
The KTM RC 200 is an outstanding entry-level sportbike that offers a perfect blend of performance, design, and practicality. While it may lack some advanced features, its value for money and thrilling riding experience make it a compelling option for both new riders and seasoned enthusiasts. Whether you're looking for a daily commuter or a weekend racer, the RC 200 is sure to impress with its style, agility, and performance.

This bike is awesome. It has good performance. You can trust this open-drawer
Enjoy a ride down the street with the Life is Good men's Cruiser 26 in Bike. Constructed with a steel cruiser frame and fork, this bike is built for durability, while the 26-inch white-wall tyres with painted rims deliver a smooth ride. I wanted to buy this bike but the headlamp was too awkward this time. Old RC Headlamp is a very smooth and classy look and gives it more cheep price in jodhpur many people can't afford this and I say this because I'm a moto vlogger and this time I want to purchase this bike so please change it thanks.

      Worst bike

      Shaho Yt

The new KTM RC looks worst. The old KTM is a beast and has greater aerodynamics than the new one, and a slight decrease in performance, I really hate this bike, the old KTM RC is best, we can buy duke 200 other than this RC, think before u buy this KTM. Mileage is ok and maintenance is average, u can feel low power front brake.

      Gurumurthy

Servicing and maintenance, bad service and they don't care at all. They don't give a proper response. They say there is no warranty. But there is a warranty. But they don't give it. Service they are not correct. Talked correctly to the first customer. The owner does not care at all. Please change the service. Thank you.

      Raj

Everything good, riding experience, power, road grip, headlight power but I hate its looks. my friends see it like cartoons. Really I feel bad about my decision. So I'm selling it better to buy rr 310. Otherwise, this bike is so good. If looks don't matter to you, you can go with this bike. Or duke is a better option.

      RC 200 review

      Paddu Chand

It is a nice bike but it has lost it looks and also it has become less reliable as i had the older version too and it never disappointed me but this had disappointed me by its looks and also it stopped once of a highway even when it had more than half of the fuel tank full. I had to call someone for call and it didn't start. We took it to the service center and they said that there was a minor issue but i don't think it was a minor issue as they refused to tell me the issue and said it will take at least 2-3 days to be fixed
