  • I bet you all. You all won't get a better performance bike in this price segment

looks stunning and great aggressive. Led lights works fabulously.

Engine performance, fuel economy and gearbox

ride by wire makes throttle response very sharp. Fuel economy is not so good in city but good in highways. Sliipper clutch makes gear shifting super smooth and it feels great.

    Ride quality & handling

ride quality is ok ok type and handling is very sharp because of short wheel base it is very easy to filter through city traffic.

    Final words

great bike. Many of you must be thinking that ktm has a history of rim getting cracked, well it was a issue specifically with the 2013 variants and after that there was no report as such. The bike's instrumental cluster has a total of 34 different informations but it's display is too small most of the rider thus it gets difficult to read every data while riding. One can easily go 200 kms on one full tank so you will have to take quite more number of refuelling break compared to others. The adjustible clutch and brake lever are good for rider as they would be able to adjust according to their palm size. The bike is much much more smooth than it's previous year variants. Exaust note is also much better and not that screeching to ears.

    Areas of improvement

only if ktm increases its fuel tank capacity and add on to a bit more mileage it would be great.

    Pros

    looks,fairing,better cushioning,great power

    cons

seating position is too aggressive, small fuel tank, city mileage drops as compared to the highway.

Not easily washable. Heating issues and pain in hands while riding.
Chain needs to be lubricated nearly every week.
Bike can be slipped and can fall on easy curves on watery surface and mud or small rocky roads. I have rc390. You better buy duke because of comfort, and thank me later.

  • Ownership review of 2016 rc390

    Abhishek Das

Ownership review of ktm rc390 (2016) - First i used to own a r15 v2, then after seeing rc390 it gave me the willingness to upgrade. So i purchased ktm rc390 in the year 2016, when ktm launched the rc390 equipped with slipper clutch and aho. It has been 2 years since i have owned it. And have not ridden it much but still have successfully cloaked 16k kms on it. Oftently i use it for sunday rides, few cornering sessions and mostly college travelling. So all this time my rc hasn't given me a single issue till yet. This is one of a kind motorcycle that offers so many things at low price. The power, grunt, stability, what not except for the comfort which you shouldn't be expecting from a track weapon. Its such a motorcycle that it can keep up with superbikes on a ride. Now moving on to service part, it didn't give me much trouble. At free service the bill amount used to be around 2000rs and at paid service it was around 3000rs. I avoided chain clean and lube because i like to do all that stuff by myself. But still its cheaper to maintain, thanks to bajaj for all this. In last service, rather than opting for motul 7100 10w50 fs oil which is usually used by ktm, i opted for shell advance fs 15w50 oil. And before switching oils i did flush my engine with 3m engine flush to get optimum performance. And believe me i didn't ever imagine that a vibrating machine can get a lot smoother. The oil seemed to have magic, and i would definitely say it's far better than motul. I will definitely recommend to use shell engine oil. And i had to change the chain sprockets at 14k kms, this time i bought the rolon chain kit, which is cheaper than ktm oem chain sprocket set costing around 2.5k. And its working great, no issues till yet. I have also changed my tyre set which worn out at 12k kms, again chose the same metzeler m5 h rated tyres which costs around 13k for a complete set. And i have upgraded to the brembo brake pads which gives an amazing bite and feel while braking.I have heard people saying rubbish about ktm and spreading wrong message, but i think ktm is really a great machine to own.Even if i upgrade to a higher capacity motorcycle i wont sell my rc390. Its not a japanese and reliability of ktm is always a question mark, but as such i have not faced any issues, so my ktm which is an european machine, but trying to act like a japanese.

I have a dream of buying a sports bike but i thought of getting r15 for a cheaper price than this. But but it's just 150cc and performance is not good. Then i thought of buying kawasaki ninja 300 which is much costlier then my friend suggested about this bike. He said this is cheap and best then i bought this bike and riding was amazing it has abs also and there is no problem while driving in high speed and looks are excellent. Best suitable for students, i am damn sure that everyone will stare at them in college. There is no need of much servicing. And mileage is also good in average speed. Best bike in affordable price and affordable maintenance cost

It is just awesome, only on a little bit throttle it is just an lightning spirit and 15 or 10 litres mileage for a 390cc bike is not at all bad. Now designs it has a powerful engine besides that it has also an eye catching appearance if it rc390 is coming from behind you can feel the sound and by that you can make out which bike is that. Now service and maintenance any bike if you will take it into higher rpm it will give some expenditures to you,but if you will drive calmly you don't have to give a lot of money only you have to pay for engine oils, break oils, coolant, etc. Now pros and cons, it is an enthusiastic bike, on revving it you might have some danger because it is a light weight bike besides that it has a powerful engine so it goes 90-100 in very low time. It rides like a boss you don't have to fear if by chance you got into drag with someone indirectly, you just have to drive it and the remaining things the bike can do itself. The showrooms ones are very friendly persons they tell you about all the schemes that the bike is offering to you. It will financial can adjust to your choice if you are pickup lover and you have adjustable price rates.

Riding and performance is excellent but if u thinking for daily use in Indian roads seriously recommend don't buy because engine heat really fast and mileage is very poor. Simple servicing cost is genuine but if your handle is damaged then gotta kill you. Pros:- great for rally and race. Great for solo riding No problem of back pain or such things. Everything is good in the bike and the dealer near me is very good so am also happy by the servicing Cons:- not a serious one but mileage is really poor but u can't think about mileage in sports bike though.

looks stunning and great aggressive.

If you are plan to buy this bike don't hesitate just go for it.
