Bajaj V15 Summary

The V15 is Bajaj’s first motorcycle under its new ‘V’ brand. Marketed as a stylish commuter, the V15 will sit between the Discover and the Pulsar range.

The most interesting aspect of the V15 is that the bike contains metal from the INS Vikrant – India’s first aircraft carrier. In terms of design, Bajaj has stuck to a classic retro appeal, something this segment doesn’t have. But at first glance you’ll be reminded of the Avenger because there’s a certain amount of design inspiration from the cruiser.

The Bajaj V15 gets a 150cc single-cylinder engine, based on the same DTSi engine from the Avenger. It delivers 12bhp at 7500rpm and peak torque of 13Nm at 5500rpm. This engine is  mated to a five-speed transmission. There is a new-for-2019 version called the ‘Power Up’ which offers one extra bhp and a universal gearshift pattern. This brings it to 13 bhp and adds a ‘one down, four up’ gearshift pattern. The 18-inch front wheel rides on conventional 33mm telescopic front forks while the 16-inch rear wheel rides on dual springs. The brake setup is made up of a 240mm disc brake at the front and a 130mm drum in the rear. In terms of dimensions, the V15 is 2044mm long, 780mm wide and 1070mm tall. The wheelbase stands at 1355mm and the bike tips the scale at 135.5kg.

Bajaj Motorcycles is offering the new V15 in just two paint schemes – pearl white and ebony black. It competes with the Hero Achiever, Honda CB Unicorn and the Yamaha SZ-RR Version 2.0. The V15 is priced at approximately Rs 66,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Bajaj V15 Review

  • Good Things

    • Offers a good ride quality
    • Known for great pickup
    • Gets a fat rear tyre
  • Could be Better

    • Has a bit of quality issues
    • Not a friendly ergonomics for long ride

BikeWale's Take

The V15 is an entry-level premium motorcycle from Bajaj. It is known for its good ride quality, decent looking instrument cluster and a powerful 150cc engine. However, the overall quality isn't great.

Bajaj V15 Expert Opinion

The new Bajaj V15 is the Pune based bike maker’s answer to its dwindling sales in the commuter class courtesy some experiments gone wrong with the Discover brand. And to stand out in the crowd, this mass-market commuter motorcycle now comes in a fancier avatar. The V15 is positioned between the Discover 150F and the Pulsar 150 but it has a confused identity; it doesn’t know what genre of motorcycling it belongs to. But, of course, the biggest talking point about the V15 – at least in Bajaj’s books – is the use of a tiny amount of metal from INS Vikrant for the making of all V15s fuel tanks.

Bajaj Vikrant V15 - The Invincible

      Sougata Das

In the year of 2016 my dad purchased this bike and it was the first bike in our family. I was in 7th standard that time. It was a very joyful day for us.
If I tell about riding experience, simply fantastic. I have completed too many journeys, too many long rides, too many agressive rides, too much off-roadings with my V15.
Now coming to point about the look of this bike. Its look is inspired from the Italian bike brand Motoguzzi. None of any bikes can give you such looks in this price range. Definately awesome and attractive. It has a wide tyre in rear and a bassy exhaust note which seeks more attention in road.
Coming to the point of performance, As everyone knows it's a BS3 vehicle, so it has raw power of 13 bhp and 13 nm torque. It easily touches 126 km/h of speed without any trouble.
Only the basic maintenance and servicings are needed for this bike.
There is only two cons in my prospective. 1) It does not have disc brake in rear wheel. 2) Bajaj could keep the same horn as Pulsar 220 or Pulsar 150 . The stock horn isn't that loud and good to hear. That's why I Modified the horn with Apache RTR 160's dual horn.

Change engine oil after 3000-4000 kms. Only try to use Motul's 20w50 semi synthetic or fully synthetic engine oils.

      Good bike for 150cc segment.

I have ridden this bike from 2019 to now. It's riding is too smooth. But engine parts are not available at the service center nearest me and the quality of its parts is not good. I have changed the piston, silendor, and full wiring at 18000 km. Good riding experience, good looking and performance but maintenance is very high.

This bike is best at 150cc, has a stylish design, and good city commuter. I am enjoying riding this bike every day. This bike has few defects which can be ignored, its maintenance charges are also high. Service center parts are not available. It's a perfect bike for couples, It's also good for offroading. Very good bike.

The buying experience is good, not excellent. The riding is better than Pulsar and the looks are also amazing, Bajaj is good, the best service, the last bad thing is parts are not available in the nearest market, so bad to say don't buy it, overall it's good.

      Bad at Everything

      Venkatesh

This is a modified version of many bike models out there and made a cruiser-like bike appreciating the INS Vikrant in its production. Apart from its message, the bike is heavy and it doesn't give out the benefit of a 150cc engine. Performance and Service issues are more in this bike. Not a recommendation. There are many issues with its design and performance that users reported. Pickup is not so best. The bike is good at driving in windy conditions it won't wobble due to its wait. Seating experience hard for pillions.
