Mahindra Mojo Summary

The Mojo is Mahindra’s street-cum-touring motorcycle that received its BS6 update in July 2020. Unlike its BS4 model that was available in two variants, it comes only in a single trim now. However, the three colour options it is available in are priced differently.

The Mojo might come across as a disproportionate-looking thing for some with an unusually large front fascia. Sitting in its bulbous front cowl is a pair of circular headlamps with LED DRLs. The fuel tank gets deep recesses for accommodating the rider’s knees and it is flanked by large radiator cowls. At the back, the single-piece seat is accompanied by just a small fender.

Powering the Mahindra Mojo 300 BS6 is a 295cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 25.35bhp at 7,300rpm and 25.6Nm at 6,000rpm. These figures are lower than the BS4 model’s 26.4bhp and 30Nm power output. Meanwhile, the cycle parts have remained unchanged. It continues to ride on telescopic forks upfront and a monoshock at the rear while braking is done by a disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle tips the scale at 186.2kg and offers a 21-litre fuel tank.

In terms of displacement, body style and purpose, the Mahindra Mojo goes up against the KTM 390 Duke and the BMW G 310 R.

Mahindra Mojo Review

  • Good Things

    • 300cc is known for its refinement, torque
    • Excellent touring motorcycle
    • Wide seat
  • Could be Better

    • Weight is on the higher side
    • Limited service reach
    • Misses out on modern features

BikeWale's Take

The Mojo has always been known for its great touring capabilities. Its 300cc engine is refined and churns out good amount of torque. The six-speed gearbox is quite slick too. But the brand has limited service reach and the bike also lacks some modern features.

      Pros:
      - Seat Comfort & Riding Position: The seat comfort and riding position are outstanding, ensuring minimal fatigue even on long rides. I once rode for 600 km and was still able to go to the office within an hour.
      - Performance: The bike offers excellent performance, allowing me to cruise comfortably at 100-110 km/h all day.
      - Mileage: On the highway, I get approximately 36-38 km/l, and in the city, around 25-27 km/l.
      - Service Cost: General service costs are reasonable, around ₹2500.
      Cons:
      - Delivery Delay: I experienced a significant delay in delivery, waiting over six months.
      - Weight & Handling: The bike is a bit heavy and requires some practice to handle smoothly in city traffic.
      - Service Centers: There are very few service centers, which means showrooms take advantage of pricing.
      - Headlight: The headlight throw is less than ideal.
      Overall Experience:
Despite some drawbacks, the bike’s performance, seating position, and comfort make it a great choice for long rides.

      Tips for other riders

Oil Change: Change the oil every 6000 km to ensure optimal engine performance. Chain Sprocket: Maintain the chain sprocket every 350 to 400 km, depending on road conditions, to keep the bike running smoothly. Fueling: Prefer filling up at fuel stations known for good maintenance or opt for company-owned stations to ensure fuel quality.

      Best Budget tourer

      Murugan Mark

Excellent touring bike under 3 lakhs budget if anyone looking for one in India. It has decent power, rock-solid built quality, and head-turning looks. Now it comes with dual channel ABS also. Please note that don't compare mojo with Bajaj dominar because Mojo is a unique machine. Anyone who wants a budget-friendly touring bike definitely try Mojo once.
      Cheers.

      Best bike discontinued .

I never owned a Mahindra mojo cause I am still a student but I rode the Mahindra mojo many time's which belongs to my friend. Every time I rode this bike the dopamine levels are increased in my blood it also argued me to ride the bike again and again. The comfort it gives never caused me any issue and it's also felt premium also the look's are like a heavy bike and looks much like a Harley Davidson or a Indian bike and the power is awesome which is much better in its range. I always want to own a mojo bike but it was discontinued. I think the main reason for the discontinued is the bad or lack of proper promotions of the bike the mojo could have gained popularity if the proper promotions are done and it could became a great success the Mahindra company just like Thar.

Mojo 300 - underrated tourer - ride it to beleive it.

      Vivek

      1. Buying experience was not good as it should be, don't know the reason why.
      2. Riding was the reason I bought it, and it was worth it.
      3. Looks are brilliant, head turner due to its size and built, seems no less than 500 cc bike. Frame puts the icing on the cake. You never feel that you have done a mistake, exhaust sound is the best in class, the best you get from a single-cylinder engine. Performance is decreased in bs6 version so it's top speed and acceleration, although most people will not feel it due to a tweak done by OEM in the rear chain sprocket by increasing one teeth.
      4. Maintaining this beast is on the lower side than most bikes in its segment. Engine oil 10w50 motul 7100 costs you around 1150 from an authorized service station along with an oil filter, that's it, I had gone through free services only, so don't have to pay the labor charges.
      5. Pros:
      a. Big machine with macho looks.
      b. Biggest fuel tank 21 litres.
      c. Most comfortable tourer in its class.
      d. Reliability.
      engine smoothness.
      f. Best sounding exhaust.
      g. Race tech feature, 0- 100, top speed and 0-
      500m timing.
      h. Fork braces - only comes in mojo.
      cons:
      a. Less on features i.e. Range, km/l, gear
      indicator.
      b. Low service network, although the availability of
parts is assured by Mahindra through their
      online site. M2all.Com

You keep your machine happy and it will take care of you in return, No tips needed. Just timely service will do the job. For better performance use MOTUL 300V factory line engine oil and change the air filter every 3000 kms.

Great comfort &quality like a honda cb300x imaginary version

      Sanjay

      Excellent touring machine
      Nimble for city rides
Good posture for off-roads, not recommended for enduros though.
A really good all-rounder bike with great engine refinement built quality and ride comfort.
Such an underrated gem machine in the market. Though still selling silently even after 7 years of launch. 2022 models are already rolling out.
