- Urbanite e-scooter to be launched in Pune, Bengaluru
- Will take phase-wise launch approach
- Launch on 16th October
Bajaj is soon going to launch its new two-wheeler brand, Urbanite. This brand will launch its first electric scooter next week and it will do it in a phase-wise manner.
According to our sources, the Pune-based manufacturer first plans to sell this upcoming e-scooter in Pune and Bengaluru in phase 1. The company chose these cities for a few reasons. Pune is home city for the company, so it made sense for it to begin with it as it will be easy to gauge the market response and also fix any issues that come up quickly.
Bengaluru is home to a lot of electric vehicles due to which there’s a decent amount of charging infrastructure in place. So it made sense for Bajaj to start with Bengaluru. That city is home to Ather – the Indian startup that sells the 450 e-scooter which is known for its performance and cool looks.
It’s still not sure if Bajaj plans to setup its own charging points across these cities. It’s definitely going to setup charging points at every customer’s home. But it is bound to charge a bit extra for that service. We are expecting Bajaj to reveal all the information on its upcoming electric scooter on the day of the launch.
Stay tuned!
