2021 Kawasaki Ninja 400 launched in Thailand; gets new colour options

- Kawasaki launched 2021 Ninja 400 in Thailand

- Gets four new paint schemes

- Remains unchanged in terms of bodywork and mechanicals

Kawasaki has launched the 2021 edition of its supersport, the Ninja 400, in Thailand. While it remains the same as the previous model on the mechanical front, the Japanese bike maker has introduced four spanking new colour options – green (special edition), green (standard), grey and black. Kawasaki has retained the previous colour palette as well, which means now there are a total of 15 paint schemes available for the bike in Thailand.

The motorcycle boasts of a traditional Ninja styling which is heavily inspired by its elder siblings such as the Ninja 650. On the front, the sharp nose fairing houses a sleek, dual-pod LED headlamp while the turn indicators are integrated within the fairing. This is accompanied by a sculpted fuel tank and a svelte tail section. As for the ergonomics, it’s mildly sporty owing to the easy-to-reach clip-on handlebar, slightly rear set footpegs and split seat.

Propelling the Ninja 400 is a 398cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine which belts out 47.5bhp of power and 36Nm of peak torque. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox which is assisted by a slipper clutch. Underpinned by a steel trellis frame, the motorcycle is suspended by 41mm telescopic forks up front and Uni-Track monoshock at the rear. Stopping the 17-inch wheels are a disc at both ends with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Kawasaki has discontinued the BS4 Ninja 400 in India and is yet to launch the BS6 model of the bike. When it comes, expect it to get new colour options here as well, besides the mandatory changes in the engine for cleaner emissions.
