  • Function over aesthetics and value for money

    Manoj Kumar Bhuyan

    1. Buying experience

Phenomenal buying experience with just 10 days of waiting got the bike. The people at the dealership were friendly and courteous. They answered every query i had being a newbie to the motorcycle world. You will not believe mojo is my first bike.

    2. Riding experience

Seven months and 8000 kms to the odometer and i still can not understand how mahindra could pull off such a butter smooth torquey engine. I had ridden a thunderbird 350 and when i took the first ride in mojo i was thinking "where are the vibrations?" it is really smooth and love the linear power delivery. The strong mid-range was just what i needed.

    3. Build quality, looks, performance

It is not the best looking bike in the market but trust me function over aesthetics always wins. It is no use having a great body if the heart is weak. Mojo wins on function any given day.

Build quality you will have to sit on it and see for yourself. Does it feel plasticky or cheap? hell no! it gives you a big bike feel and also most of the parts are metal and weighs 180+kgs wet which is blessing in the highway for the long runs because the straight line stability is superb. None of the parts in the bike are loose and rattle even the welding in the edges are done as if in a export quality bike.

Performance is great for a 300cc tourer with 30nm of torque is so superb you will just love it. Although it doesn't go beyond 155kmph without stretching but lets get real we hardly find that long a stretch during the long hauls in the saddle. This is a serious tourer with a 21l fuel tank i get a range of 480km (reserve to reserve) on the highway. This is phenomenal if you are into munching kms after kms. In mojo you can effortlessly go from 0-130kmph without stressing the engine. After that you can feel the stress but still its quite stable. 6th gear will be used only for cruising. You can extract all the power & torque by 5th gear and cruise at 120kmph all day long. Superb engine & performance.

    4. Service intervals are at 1000/6000/12000/18000 (thereafter every 6000kms). The first four services are "free" and including oil change the bill never exceeds inr 1200. I have so far done two of them. Maintenance requires chain lube at every 500kms and frequent tyre pressure checks. Spare parts are pretty cheap except for the dual silencer.

    5. Pros

    a. Torquey, strong, performance oriented and reliable engine.

    b. Sitting posture, comfortable seats perfect for long highway runs.

    c. Low maintenance

    d. Linear power delivery.

    e. Great straight line stability at high speeds

    f. Great fuel range with 21l fuel tank.

    g. Great engine breaking capabilities.

    h. Clutch less up shifts supported.

    i. Need not run to a local bike shop immediately after buying for modification unlike some other bikes.

    j. No loose parts no rattles.

    k. Mojo riding jackets, helmet, gloves, t-shirts, boots are available as accessories.

    l. Mojo tourer edition gets mobile holder, crash bars, panniers, soft saddle bags, tank bag, led lights which makes a big difference.

Cons and nice to haves -

    a. Most people will complain about the design because looks take higher priority. But it is true the design has to be improved by mahindra. The headlight assembly weighs 7kgs and doesn't fit the design of the entire bike.

    b. No windscreen for a tourer.

    c. No hard case aluminum side/top cases by mahindra.

    d. No abs. It is 2017 and abs is still missing. Lets wait for govt. Regulations to kick in maybe then mahindra will do it.

    e. Front breaks are progressive.

    g. Low beam front headlights are useless. Very less luminosity.

    h. Gear indicator and fuel range indicator missing. Would be a great addition, makes life easier for the long runs in the highway.

    i. Usb charger missing.

    j. Although pillion seats have been change in the recent models the back rest is still missing. These are required for long highway runs and should be available at least as an option.

Knuckle guards are not provided even as accessories.

The bike was good but the service centre. One of the worst service centre i ever say .If i ask any parts for mojo they will say its not available . They know only the word not available . I went for a small trip on the way my bike chain sprocket got damage .I called them for that first they said its available few minutes back they called me back and saying sprocket not available tell in this case what will i do still my bike is in home parking only. For parking in home only i spent money to buy this mojo. Still i"m say bike is good but the service centre was bad. I need any solution it if the mahindra company ready to provide the parts directly also i"m ready to buy and one more thing during the booking time the sales executive said the bike top speed will be 180 but its went for me 140 only i don't know he said lie or not.

  • The magical charm

I haven't checked the mileage yet. If you can then lemme know how.I was kind a cruiser guy and had booked the competitor until my friend asked to test ride mojo. Had my eyes on mojo when it was launched but later was taken back after the reviews; (but actually, they didn't understood the bike that well)This is one machine that can do it all. I have done tours, corners, off road, no roads, highways everywhere. Mojo is an eye magnet, and thus the name justifies it.People might complain about the brakes but you got engine brakes for that.Someone said you brakes wear-off too soon, you gotta rev match to control your speed. The only thing missing is a good windshield. There's a whole lot more to write about, but i'm busy riding it.

  • This bike can make other bikes look punny your re buddies will envy you.

    Arnav Sengupta

Let me tell you my story.I am a 6ft 1inch guy who loves bikes from core, looking at the minute possible details.I started my hunt for buying a 300+ cc bike on 2017.I had 3 bikes in mind.1. Dominar 2. Classic 350 3. Duke 390 4. Mojo (was not in my top 3 search)1. Dominar: i found it a cosmetic dummy bike with ktm donated engine, it was great to ride but was somewhere something missing. I didn't like the feel of the bike, felt like some chinese clone. - (trashed)2. Classic 350: really? is that a bike? n that stupid sales man trying to push sell. In a single sentence, "underpowered unfinished piece of tin can. I hated it so much that i told the sales guy, even if you give 50% discount, i won't take this.3. Duke 390: oh man! this bike is a superman. So much of power. So much of electronics. Nothing can beat this. Hence i booked it paying 5k deposit. But in back of my mind i was not happy with the riding posture and presence. I was looking like a bear on circus cycle. It was so punny.4. Mojo: was not in my shopping list. I just happened to window shop. & guess what. It was love at first sight. I couldn't take my eyes off it. It was jaw dropping sexy. It was not looking like what i had seen on pictures.I admired it for 10 min without speaking a single word. I was looking for flaws and comparing it to duke390 on everything my eyes could see. Then i took the test drive and i was sold.It was not like any bike i had tested before. It was something else.I didn't book it right away but i thought about this bike the whole week doing all possible google search and i was astonished to see very less talks about mojo. Very less advertising, only on premium magazines like rolling stones. The saturday came and first thing i did was to book the mustered yellow mojo. Now let's talk about my experience with my bike. No more stories.I got my mojo on sept 2017.Here are few positives.1. Great high speed stability.2. Pirelli tyres for great cornering confidence3. Huge tank of 21 liters capacity 4. Smooth vibe free engine beyond 5000 rpm till 9000 rpm (happy zone)5. Sounds like twin cylinder engine. (without db killer, it sounds like a monster).6. Built for purpose, great for 500km + long trips.7. It's a hulk of a bike (if you are 6ft tall, you will love it)8. Paint quality is one of the best. Still no scratches after 2 years of use.9. Has a great road presence, people will definitely get confused seeing it on traffic signal thinking its a 650 cc bike.10. Made up of metal. Very few plastic parts.11. Lot of custom mod options. Check out mojo tribe in google.12. Nice sexy curves in the body.13. Front heavy bike, great for straight course.14. Nice 28kmpl mileage overall.15. Great riding posture.Few negatives 1. Heats quite a bit in bumper to bumper traffic 2. No abs, but who needs one if you know to ride.3. No led headlights 4. No gear indicator 5. Heavy to handle when in parking coz its huge6. No side stand (none of the superbike has)7. No of service center is less compared to the re community P.S. I am a proud owner of the bike and use it for daily commute.

  • Its an awesome tourer

    Anandakrishnan

First of all thank to mahindra for bringing this awesome machine to the market it's an awesome tourer in every aspect the perfect long distance motorcycle if you are looking for comfortable touring.. The main competitor is the dominar 400 comparing to dominar . Dominar has more power and torque to play and the other side mojo have the usable power if you are looking for an highway sport cruisers definitely domi is the right choice and mojo is all about is sit back and relax enjoy the ride calmly .I am not a owner of mojo my friend had it i rode it for so many time 100 of kilometers the comfort and refinement that offer is top notch and build quality is another level .The worst part owning a mojo is the service .. The service center are very few in each states in India .

  • A great bike ruined by poor service

    Pulkit

This is a superb bike but mahindra is one of the worst companies when it comes to service. I bought this bike back in 2016. My mojo is one of the first 500mojo made by mahindra. I test drive it at their facility in pithampur, indore before buying it. Now, trust me, the bike is friggin awesome. But the service of mahindra two wheelers is poor. The service centers usually never have the parts that your bike needs and they take uptown 15 days to arrive. They will overcharge you like it's a 10lakh rupee premium bike. If you don't count the service, the bike is a good package. It's got road presence like no other bike its segment. Royal enfields can't hold a candle to it in any aspects. The tyres in this bike are phenomenal. That being said, there are a few drawbacks. The braking is not very confidence-inspiring. Chain unit keeps getting loose too often as is the problem with all other bikes made in india. Oil needs to be changed every now and then. Not a good bike for the rain. It throws mud onto your pillion when driving on a wet road.I would recommend this bike to you if and only if you yourself understand a bike's mechanism and don't have to rely too much on the services of the company.

  • So far so good... Yet to take for long trip 500kms and above

    Krishnan

Buying experience is ok, but riding experience still now is great. I love this bike.. Looks is good and performance is just awesome. No vibration.

    Pros

Stable bike, smooth riding experience, broad tyre base, balanced weight and nm and bhp (i think). Ready accessories from mahindra on touring accessories

    Cons

    Abs break missing.

    Micheal tyre

Head light is bad (need to have additional fog light)

I still don't understand the use of two silencer in this bike..I want someone from mahindra to explain this mystery. Since the silencer is not straight .. I am not sure what will if we try to drive on water logging roads during rainy season ..

  • the sound...OMG

    Emad

Fist things first..The sound is the best part of this bike.
Adds up to the character of this bike.
Looks wise, its a kind of love it or hate it design. But definitely a head turner
people everywhere will look at you when you pass
Good for touring, good ergonomics and the clutch is light too.
Looks best from the rear.Rear leds are awesome
gear box is smooth,no false neutrals
    ample torque
Huge fuel tank - Saves time from frequent fuel tops in between tours
Coming to the cons-Brakes and headlight
Brakes are the worst part of this bike,no abs means sudden braking will cause sliding tires.
    headlight is shit,i must say
Light throw is bad, even though it is a double headlamp unit.
If you ask me, i would opt it over a dominar and its ABS for the sheer sound and character of the bike.

Power : for daily city rides , yeah on 2 to 4th gear it will give u awesome thrust . But comparing to others it hasn't got so much power .

Sound : mojo is the king of roads because of its sound and the fire sound on return strokes are just eye catching . You will just love the sound .

Handling : poor on corners . You cant lean it too down .

Sitting position is very nice as it gives a cruiser feeling .

Maintenance : your mechanic will be your good friend as you will go regularly .. #notjoking ..

Things i love is its sound and suspension !!!

    Kumaresan

It throws mud onto your pillion when driving on a wet road.I would recommend this bike to you if and only if you yourself understand a bike's mechanism and don't have to rely too much on the services of the company.

    Kumaresan
