Moto Morini X-Cape Summary

Price: Moto Morini X-Cape price for its variant - X-Cape Standard starts at Rs. 5,99,000. The price for the other variant - X-Cape X is Rs. 6,49,000. The mentioned X-Cape prices are the average ex-showroom.

Moto Morini X-Cape is a adventure bike available in 2 variants and 6 colours. The Moto Morini X-Cape is powered by 649cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 59.17 bhp and a torque of 54 Nm. With both front and rear disc brakes, Moto Morini X-Cape comes up with anti-locking braking system. This X-Cape bike weighs 215 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 18 liters.

The X-Cape 650 is Moto Morini’s middleweight adventure motorcycle. It has been launched in a segment that has a lot of potential but there are only a few bikes. The X-Cape 650 claims to fill that void.

Powering the Moto Morini X-Cape 650X is a 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces a maximum power of 60bhp at 8250rpm and a peak torque of 54Nm at 7000rpm. The motor is paired to a six-speed gearbox. This bike gets a large seven-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster that provides lots of information. It also offers various themes that can be changed through the menu. It also gets two riding modes — Ride and Off-road, which alter the throttle response and ABS intervention accordingly. Then, there are features like backlit switchgear, dual USB charging ports, and an adjustable windscreen, all of which increase usability and convenience.

This ADV comes equipped with an adjustable suspension setup, front and back. It gets 43mm upside-down forks upfront, which can be adjusted for preload, rebound, and compression, while the rear mono-shock is adjustable for preload and rebound. Then, the X-Cape 650X rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear, tubeless cross-spoke wheels that are shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres. As far as braking is concerned, the bike gets 298mm dual rotors up front and a 255mm single disc at the back. The safety net includes a dual-channel ABS setup, with an option to disable ABS at the rear in Off-Road mode.

The X-Cape 650 goes against the Kawasaki Versys 650 which is more of a tourer. This bike is available in three colours – red, grey and white.

Moto Morini X-Cape Review

  • Good Things

    • 650cc engine offers excellent performance
    • Most feature-rich motorcycle in its segment
    • Good seating comfort
  • Could be Better

    • Engine heats up in traffic
    • Kerb weight is on the higher side
    • Poor brand reach, recall

BikeWale's Take

The XCape 650 is a middle-weight adventure touring motorcycle from Moto Morini. This motorcycle has Dakar-like bike inspiration and also a 650cc motor that produces good performance. Plus, the bike is loaded with some really good features which no other bike in its segment offers. However, the brand has poor sales and service reach in India, due to which the brand recall is quite low.

Moto Morini X-Cape Expert Opinion

The XCape 650 X promises to address some of the issues that are present in the segment. The question is, does it address ‘all’ the issues? We find out!

Style and performance: very well designed and offers Good performance. (Because of the weight 230 kg +) The acceleration is slow even though the engine offers 60hp of power.
Poor design for seat and the heat pushes and gets very hot. The placement of the radiator fins is bad. Switches for navigating stopped working.
Oil leakage from the oil pressure sensor.
Sadly service center in Chennai is closed. Need to go to Bangalore or Trichy. 350km I have to travel for this.
And the interesting thing is they don't have spare parts and just for checking I have to travel and to take it back, I need to travel again. My heart feels heavy.
So before making a purchase think think and think. I don't want you to be in my position.

Performance is great. More features are offered in this price segment. Had okay delivery experience not that great in Chennai. They delayed little bit. And below are pros and cons
      Pros:
      -performance
      -seat comfort
-most feature rich motorcycles in this segment (tyre pressure indicator, integrated maps, adjustable windshield, tubeless spokes wheels, handled bar adjustment brembo brakes)
      -suspension (adjustable)
-many more (I suggest you to test drive before booking)
      Cons:
      - Weight management(240kg+) . In my point of view, I would say this aids in bike stabilization.
-good service and spares are still a question ( you can only rely on the showroom)
First service cost : 10k ( no free service) . Then every service in 6000 km.
Been 3 months and drove 7000 km so far.
Milege depends on riding style. Normally 20 you can expect and calculate for fuel expenses.
Riding tip: when standing in traffic or idle, be cautious. Because of weight, even a slight turn can pull you down. (235+kg) Wet weight.
Overall it's great value for money I would say

Moto Morini x-cape 649, The Bike has great road presence. The bike has a quick response in both low & high rpm, also the rider is more comfortable in terms of seating. The engine provides an excess amount of heat. Headlight power is not adequate. Control switches are easy to reach. The weight on this bike is high it is in traffic but on the highway it is not a matter. The mileage is 18 in the city and 23 on the highway. Service cost is slightly higher on I pay 9000 rs for the first service.
