MV Agusta Brutale 800 Summary

MV Agusta’s replacement for the Brutale 675 came in the form of the Brutale 800 in 2016.

Powering the Brutale is a 798cc in-line three-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed gearbox with an output of 108bhp at 11,500rpm and 83Nm of torque at 7,600rpm. The bike gets eight level traction control, three-way switchable ABS, two-way quickshifter and a hydraulic slipper clutch. Adding up on tech, MV Agusta’s streetfighter also gets four riding modes Rain, Normal, Sport and Custom. Brembo takes up braking responsibilities both at the front and rear with 320mm and 220mm discs respectively.

The Brutale 800’s uniquely designed seat, LED daytime running lights and the triple exhausts pipes which expose the single sided swingarm adds to the elegantly raw appeal of the Italian. The bike features a seat height of 810mm and a fuel tank capacity of 16.6 litres.

Kinetic Group’s Motoroyale will get the MV Agusta Brutale 800 as semi-knocked down units (SKD) to India by July this year to compete with the Ducati Monster 821, Kawasaki Z900, Yamaha MT-09 and the updated 2017 Triumph Street Triple 765.

MV Agusta Brutale 800 Review

  • Good Things

    • The 798cc engine has a lot of torque
    • Very good power-to-weight ratio
    • Has an exclusive appeal
  • Could be Better

    • The service network is limited
    • Pricing is on the expensive side

BikeWale's Take

MV Agusta's most affordable motorcycle on offer in India is the Brutale 800. It gets compact dimensions with a potent 798cc, inline-three cylinder engine. And with a kerb weight of 175kg, the Brutale 800 has an incredible power-to weight ratio. It also comes equipped with a host of electronic rider aids and features. Although the bike would do better with a wide service and dealer network.

MV Agusta Brutale 800 Expert Opinion

I would be lying if I said I wasn’t intimidated. The MV Agusta Brutale 800 does that to you. Its mere presence causes a stir much akin to Monica Bellucci walking into a room unannounced. Even as I rode it, I could feel people´s eyes upon me all around. The expressions varied from curiosity, amazement to pure envy. I would be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy every moment of it.

What is it?

How does it ride?

Anything else I should know?

Should I buy one?

Where does it fit in?

One hell of a thriller and a head turner

      Ishan Sharma

Living up to the fearsome reputation of its predecessors, mv agusta brutale 800 is a complete head turner and a ridiculously fast super bike. Retaining the silhouette of agusta's predecessors mv designed a significantly new version and made it even prettier. The bike has some unique and attractive elements. The led head lamp, subtly designed fuel tank, lcd instrument cluster but my favourite element has to be the sleek and cantilevered rear end seat having a stunning hollowed out section. The signature organ like exhausts has a great finish and remains a complete head turner positioned next to exposed rear wheel. This is not an easy machine in less than perfect conditions. Over and above the engine heat, the heavy clutch becomes painful in traffic and the firm suspension is punishing on poor roads. Adding to the discomfort of firm suspension on rough roads is the soft seat which might sound appealing and comforting but the reality is that the seat is so soft that you sink easily to the hard metal base that gets uncomfortable fast and you will find a need to take a break. The bike has a very low mileage of 19km but it doesn't really matter for those who can afford to purchase it as it costs more than 16 lakhs. There is no escape that it is an uncomfortable bike in uneasy conditions but it turns equally appealing when you take it to the right place. This is a hard hitting and pulse racing sports bike.Ride is one hell of a thriller but it has a low l tolerance for inattentiveness and inexperience. This is a razor sharp machine, demands respect and rewards deeply when it finds them. The bike is quick and the rush of power is addictive. Reason to buy this bike is for manic performance it has offer. It is a complete heart over head decision.

This is the first super bike i had bought and it's is just a lot more smoother and faster and brutal than i thought the bike gives an amazing acceleration and controlling this bike at high speeds is good the only problem is the petrol, the bike just gives about 18kmpl. Other all things are good. It's details are: the mv agusta brutale 800 is powered by a 798 cc air-cooled engine which produces 110 ps of power . It has a fuel tank of 16.5 ltrs. It has a beautiful led lamp in the headlight. It has an amazing performance, it reaches from 0-100kmph in 3.8 sec's.... Well when u go to the service thing it costs around 5k-6k for the service.Pros:1. Superb performance 2. Digital speedometer 3. Excellent design 4. Maximum comfort 5. Excellent braking Cons:1. Very low mileage at 18kmpl. That is it...
