Royal Enfield has launched the all-new Continental GT café racer for a starting price of Rs 2.05 lakh (On road Delhi). The new top-of-the-line Royal Enfield is the first Café racer in the company’s range, creating a niche for itself in the Indian market.
The new bike is powered by a 535cc single-cylinder engine mated to a five-speed gearbox putting out 29.1bhp at 5,100rpm and max torque of 44Nm at 4,000rpm. The Continental GT is being built at RE’s new Chennai plant for both domestic and export markets. In fact the company has already commenced exports of the new model.
The Continental GT has classic café racer design including single seat, low-slung handle bars and sculpted tank. It gets sticky Pirelli Sport Demon tyres and has the ability to comfortably cruise at speeds beyond 100kph. The instrument cluster is typical RE with round cluster and digital trip meter. The Continental GT is available in two colours – Royal Red and GT Yellow. Royal Enfield has also unveiled a range of accessories for the new bike, which will be available through their dealerships.
