Honda Motorcycle and Scooter (HMSI) will launch a new 150cc motorcycle based on the fully-faired CBR150R. This motorcycle will be a completely stripped-down of the fully-faired bike and will be launched as a commuter motorcycle.
It will be called as the CB150R streetbike. This motorcycle was first showcased at the Jakarta motorcycle show last year and has been designed purely for the Asian market.
The CB150R streetbike will have the same engine as the CB150R, a 150cc liquid cooled single cylinder engine which produces power of 17.7bhp at 10000rpm and torque of 12.66Nm at 8000rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox and will be a fuel injected motorcycle, so we can expect the very high number for fuel efficiency. The motorcycle ergonomics has been changed making it more upright for comfort.
HMSI already has two 150cc proper commuter motorcycles in their portfolio, the Unicorn and the Unicorn Dazzler which are priced between Rs 64,000 and Rs 68,000.
