Yamaha has been selling the Byson motorcycle (FZ-16 in India) for over a year now in Indonesia but didn’t set the sales charts on fire like it did in India. So in order to offer a refreshed look and something new to the Indonesian market, the Japanese manufacturer has launched a cosmetic upgrade for the motorcycle.
The colour theme has been termed as the “Secret of Darkness” and is available in four colours – Tough Blue, Valorous Red, Black Armor and Bold White. The motorcycle gets some really nice paint scheme on the fuel tank, radiator cowl and tail area. Yamaha is known to give some really nice cosmetic updates for its motorcycles in India and the FZ-16, Fazer and the R-15 has been their best choice as they get majority of their sales in India.
Mechanically, the Byson remain the same like its Indian counterpart. It is powered by 153cc single cylinder engine which produces 13.6bhp of power and 13.2Nm of torque and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. It retails for 21.5 million Rupiah (Rs 1.25 lakh)
We feel that if Yamaha gets the same colour scheme for the Indian markets, the consumers here will surely appreciate it.
