Bajaj Auto wins civil suit on ‘Hamara Bajaj’

Bajaj Auto has won a civil suit that was filed by them against JA Entertainment Pvt Ltd  which planned to use  the catchphrase ‘Hamara Bajaj’ as a name of its upcoming movie.

The Bombay High Court, on the 21st of September, passed an order granting permanent injunction against the Bollywood company from using the mark “Hamara Bajaj” as the movie title or in any other manner and from using the mark “Bajaj” in the proposed film.

‘Hamara Bajaj’ was used extensively by the Pune based manufacturer to market its popular scooter brand Chetak during the last three decades of the previous century. The company has discontinued the scooter; however, it still uses the tag line in its corporate campaigns as the ‘Hamara Bajaj’ is known globally.
