The rumours of a new Yamaha YZF-R15 going around, since last few weeks, have turned out to be true. There is indeed a third version of the most successful 150cc bike from Yamaha. This bike is expected to be launched next month as a 2014 version.
The 2014 R15 won’t get a major cosmetic change but will feature minor technical upgrades. It will get a new fuel injection system along with a remapped ECU, which will offer an additional 1PS from the current model. The torque figure will remain unchanged at 15Nm but the new setup will give the bike a better midrange, improving its riding condition in the city.
The upcoming YZF-R15 will get a new colour option – grey hue with a black and golden edition livery. The prices are expected to remain the same and we expect bookings to begin soon. Yamaha has started feeling the heat from the competitors in the premium bike segment. In order to stay in this game, Yamaha has decided to launch the upgraded YZF-R15.
