BMW Motorrad is expected to come up with an updated version of the S1000RR. Scheduled for an early October reveal in Germany, or in November at the EICMA show in Milan, the new S1000RR has partially appeared on the internet with the help of a rendering.
According to the source, the render resembles the prototype model spied testing in Germany recently. The 2015 model is expected to sport a new tail design and updates to the front and side fairing. Additionally, there will also be a redesigned muffler with two exhaust ports.
The 2015 model is merely a facelift, which means the motorcycle will continue to be powered by the hugely potent 999cc, in-line four cylinder engine that powers the existing S1000RR. Producing 193bhp of power and 112Nm of torque, the engine offers up supercar-rivalling performance.
Introduced in 2008, the S1000RR is BMW Motorrad’s flagship sports bike and features a bucket load of equipment and rider aids. It competes with the best from Japan and Europe. The competition, at present, includes Aprilia RSV4, Kawasaki ZX-10R and the Honda CBR 1000R.
