A few days ago, the 2015 Kawasaki Versys 1000 was spotted in Romania during the company’s official photoshoot, but the photographer couldn’t manage to snap the front of the motorcycle. Now though, the popular adventure tourer motorcycle’s front has been revealed, thanks to a new spy shot taken by motorcycle website Pemotoare. The motorcycle was spotted on the Transalpina road in Romania.
The spy shot shows that the new Versys 1000 will get a completely new streamlined fairing, which gives it a leaner look. The new Versys 1000 will ditch the vertically stacked headlamp assembly for a less radical twin-headlamp setup. It also gets a new windscreen and revised bodywork.
Mechanically, the Kawasaki Versys 1000 is very similar to the company’s streetfighter motorcycles- the Z1000 and the Z1000SX. This is an indicator that the engine alterations and the technical updates on the new Z models might also be carried forward to the new Versys 1000. As the Versys 650 is the smaller sibling of the Vesys 1000, all the cosmetic changes will also be seen the new 650cc model.
While the rest of the Kawasaki line-up has already been updated with 2015 models, both the new Versys 1000 and the Versys 650 are expected to be showcased at the INTERMOT Show in Cologne, later this month. The Versys 1000 will rival other litre-class adventure tourer motorcycles like the Aprilia Dorsoduro, Triumph Tiger Explorer, Ducati Multistrada and the upcoming BMW S1000XR.
