The upcoming BMW G310R which is going to be the manufacturer’s most affordable bike has been spotted testing once again in India. The motorcycle which is a product of the BMW-TVS alliance which was formed two years ago looks to be in production ready form.
The motorcycle has been spotted completely undisguised and is near identical to the bike displayed at the Auto Expo 2016. The motorcycle still has the 41mm thick golden USD (upside down) forks upfront. The sharp triangular design language is seen on the side fairing as well as the turn indicators.
The G310R has a 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine churns out 34bhp at 9500rpm and has a peak torque of 28Nm at 7500rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The bike has a BMW claimed top speed of 145kmph and a fuel efficiency of 36kmpl. However, the test rider of the bike said that the G310R has a top speed of 160kmph and a fuel efficiency figure between 25kmpl to 28kmpl.
The motorcycle also appears to be running on Michelin Pilot Street radial tyres which are tyres it will likely be sold with. The motorcycle will most definitely come with ABS as standard. The G310R will be manufactured by TVS at their Hosur facility and will be exported worldwide. We are expecting the BMW G310R to be priced somewhere around the Rs 2 lakh mark. The BMW will take on the Benelli TNT 300, Kawasaki Z250 and the KTM Duke 390 in India.
