Harley-Davidson recently unveiled the newest addition to the Sportster range of cruisers – the 2016 Roaster in the US. Equipped with a few technological upgrades and oodles of old-school charm, the new Roadster sits alongside the sportier Forty-Eight. The 2016 Harley-Davidson Roadster is inspired by the sporty and minimalistic garage-built customs of the 1960s.
Harley-Davidson has swapped the conventional front telescopic forks with beefy 43mm inverted forks, to offer improved ride and handling.
The rear section rides on dual spring suspension. Power is sent to the rear wheel through a belt drive, to suit the V-twin engine’s torquey character.
The Roadster is powered by a 1202cc air-cooled V-twin Evolution engine, which delivers 103Nm of torque through a five-speed transmission.
The ribbed seats and the low riding position have been designed to allow you to go the distance without tiring you out.
The retro single-clock instrument console integrates an analogue tachometer and a digital display to show speed and the odometer readings.
The Roadster rides on 19-inch front and 18-inch rear cast aluminium wheels. Dual 300mm discs take care of braking for the front wheel.
List of optional extras includes a conical air filter, exhaust system, chopped tail section, lowered handlebar, customised seat and indicators.
