Photos of a production-ready 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 250R have been leaked on the internet, leading to speculations that the bike might be unveiled soon. Photographed in a completely undisguised avatar, the new Ninja 250R will feature a slew of cosmetic changes to give it a fresh lease of life.
The revised fairing of the new Ninja 250R gets edgy styling inspired from the new Ninja ZX-10R. The beaky front end gets two narrow slits to accommodate the twin-headlamp setup, which might feature LED units. The motorcycle has been styled in tune with Kawasaki’s ‘mass forward, minimalist tail’ design philosophy, giving it a very sporty stance. The new Kawasaki Ninja 250R is expected to continue with a parallel-twin engine like the current model though the minor details about the powertrain are still a mystery.
While the Indonesian market gets this motorcycle in its quarter-litre guise, Kawasaki sells this model with a 300cc heart in other global markets. We can safely expect Kawasaki to unveil the 300cc version of this bike for the international markets soon after its public debut. This model will compete against the likes of Yamaha YZF-R3, Hyosung GT250R and the upcoming Benelli Tornado 302.
