Kawasaki has announced a series of small but significant updates for the ZX-14R (ZZR1400 in some markets). This updated flagship offering gets a host of engine and chassis modifications while complying with Euro4 regulations for select markets.
The key to the ZX-14R’s fame, as we know, is the class-leading power and torque characteristics that give it an edge over the Suzuki Hayabusa.
Kawasaki has revised the ECU settings and made changes to the exhaust system to meet the latest Euro4 emission regulations.
All of these revisions have come without any drop in the power figures of this striking-looking 1,441cc 200bhp sports tourer.
For 2016, Kawasaki has included a new instrument cluster with LCD display using a dot-pattern background, plus black/white interchangeable display.
The high-spec Performance Sport model receives further upgrades in the form of the new Brembo M50 monobloc brake callipers combined with a radial-pump master cylinder and stainless steel brake lines.
The model also features an Ohlins TTX39 rear shock absorber with settings unique to the ZX-14R, plus Akrapovic exhausts.
The 2016 Kawasaki ZX-14R is now on sale in select global markets and continues to compete head on with the Suzuki Hayabusa.
