British clothing brand, Belstaff, recently released the first promotional stills of the upcoming short film – ‘Outlaws’. Featuring famous footballer David Beckham, these pictures have given us the first look of Triumph’s upcoming water-cooled classic motorcycles – the Bonneville and the Thruxton.
Outlaws is a motorcycle movie that features Beckham as a motorcycle stuntman and drifter. The promotional photographs show Beckham posing beside a customised water-cooled Thruxton, which is expected to debut at the 2015 EICMA Show, in Milan.
Though the water-cooled Triumph Bonnevilles and Thruxtons have been spotted before, this is the first time these models have been seen with the company’s official insignia. Reports suggest that the new Thruxton and Bonneville will get a bigger and more powerful 1100cc engine. The photographs show that the tubular steel cradle frame has been revised to accommodate the new engine and the radiator. Even the fuel tank and the engine casing have been modified. Suspension setup consists of Ohlins units, indicating that this is the fully-loaded top of the line model.
With the bump in displacement and power, the new Bonneville will go head-on with the BMW R nineT. Expect further details and specifications to be revealed as we get closer to the bikes’ launch date.
