The 2016 Triumph Speed Triple has been spotted testing in England. The spy shots show that the 2016 Speed Triple will get a few cosmetic and technological tweaks to extend its life till the next generation model in the next couple of years.
The new Triumph Speed Triple will continue with the muscular looks though the body is now streamlined and gets a sleeker tail unit. The headlamps have adopted a softer and more rounded shape. The bike also gets a revised exhaust system, a step taken to make the motorcycle Euro4 compatible.
Powering the motorcycle is the same 1,050cc inline three-cylinder engine, which in its current state of tune produces 133bhp and 111Nm of torque. For the new model, we expect a small bump in power to keep it competitive against other litre-class streetfighters. The brakes of the standard model have also been updated, and it now gets Brembo units from the higher-spec Speed Triple R model. The suspension will be similar to the current model.
We can expect these models to be globally unveiled before the end of this year. The Triumph Speed Triple competes with other streetfighters like the Benelli TNT R, Honda CB1000R, Kawasaki Z1000, Suzuki GSX-S1000, BMW S1000R and the Aprilia Tuono V4.
