2016 TVS Victor Disc Long Term Review 2
If you read our first long term review of the Victor, we told you that we would be answering a bunch of questions regarding this TVS. Let’s get the most simple and important one out of the way – fuel efficiency: it gave a surprisingly great 59.8kmpl. It stacked up pretty well losing by just a couple of kilometres to its lower-powered segment rival - the Honda Livo.
What truly blew us away was the braking performance, the 240mm wavy front disc has great bite and progression. The front brake is surely a class leader with the outstanding feel it provides. Combined with the decent rear brake, the Victor is confidence inspiring and a really good one at that. In the 1000kms covered on the motorcycle there has not yet been a single instance where we have found the motorcycle to lack stopping power.
Some of this braking power could be owing to the TVS Remora tyres. Until now, TVS had always optioned their entry-level motorcycles with their basic Secura tyres. The Remoras which are also seen in a larger size on their flagship Apache RTR 200 4V are rounded and have a sporty tread pattern. Even though the tyres are disfavoured on the RTR, the grip on them prove to be plentiful on the Victor.
However, the neat looking seat with quality fabric and contrast stitching is too soft for our liking, it proves to be a major drawback. To give you an idea, the lack of support leads to pain in the lower back and neck area in any journey above 35kms. Nonetheless, if your commute does fall below that mark you should be fine.
