Bajaj has unveiled its newest addition to the Pulsar family – the Pulsar NS160. To be sold in select international markets like Latin America and Turkey, this motorcycle will be positioned between the Pulsar NS150 and the Pulsar NS200.
The Bajaj Pulsar NS160 borrows styling cues from the Pulsar NS200. The perimeter frame, alloy wheels, underbelly exhaust, instrument cluster as well as the clip-on handlebar have been picked from the Pulsar NS200 parts bin, though it does get the smaller 37mm front forks from the NS150. It also misses out on the rear disc brake. Cosmetic updates include new dual tone paint schemes and a new engine cowl. Powering the Pulsar NS160 is a single-cylinder oil-cooled unit, delivering 17bhp and 13Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed transmission.
With the Avenger 150 Street, V15 and the Pulsar 150 all performing well in India, it seems unlikely that Bajaj will introduce another commuter motorcycle in this market space. What we should get is the new fuel-injected Pulsar NS200; click here to read more about it.
