Day 6 of the 2017 Dakar rally has been cancelled due to torrential rain. This made the stages too dangerous for the participants to run. The standings remain the same as those on Day 5 but this isn't a completely bad thing - it adds on to the day of rest in La Paz anyway, so the competitors will get a very welcome 48 hour long rest period. Stage 7 from La Paz to Uyuni, a distance of 622km, will be run on Monday.
