The Intermot 2016 witnessed the unveiling of Ducati’s new sports touring motorcycle, the SuperSport. Reviving the moniker as a part of the company’s 70th anniversary celebrations, this new sports tourer will share the market space with the likes of Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Suzuki GSX-S1000F in the Indian market. Here is a detailed photo gallery of the Ducati SuperSport.
The SuperSport has been designed to resemble the 959 Panigale, though touches like adjustable windscreen and large fuel tank make it more practical.
The split headlamp design with LED DRLs, sculpted fuel tank, single-sided swingarm and Y-spoke design of the wheels give the SuperSport an exotic appeal.
The ergonomics have been designed to offer an upright riding position which makes it comfortable while riding through cities and during long hauls.
At the heart of the SuperSport is a 937cc 11-degree Testastretta L-twin engine, which delivers 113bhp and 96Nm of torque.
The electronic package includes ABS, traction control, riding modes and a multimedia system for the rider’s smartphone.
The SuperSport gets twin 320mm discs at the front and a single 245mm disc in the rear. ABS is offered as standard.
While the SuperSport rides on Marzocchi forks and a Sachs monoshock, the SuperSport S gets Ohlins suspension parts.
The standard SuperSport is available only in Ducati’s traditional blood red paint scheme with black wheels.
The SuperSport S on the other hand also gets the option of a white paint scheme with red wheels, apart from the Ducati red.
