Polaris has rolled out a new limited edition bagger called the Indian Chieftain Elite, targeted at custom motorcycle enthusiasts. As their latest flagship model, this motorcycle features the best of technology and creature comforts that Indian has to offer. Here is a photo gallery of the 2017 Indian Chieftain Elite -
The hand-painted custom fireglow-red candy paint scheme sets the Chieftain Elite apart from its standard brethren.
It takes a specialised team over 25 hours to hand-paint each bike, and no two Chieftain Elites look exactly the same.
The large steering mounted fairing integrates LED headlamps. The open fender design shows off the 19-inch front wheel – a first for an Indian motorcycle.
Creature comforts include a 200-watt audio system with four speakers, an electrically adjustable visor, billet aluminium floorboards and heated leather seats.
The Chieftain Elite also gets Indian’s proprietary ‘Ride Command’ infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen display.
Integrated into the dashboard of the bike, the display allows the rider to access the ride data, audio system as well as the navigation system.
The Chieftain Elite is powered by the 1811cc ‘Thunder Stroke 111’ V-twin engine developing 135Nm of torque and mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Those who wish to extract more performance can opt for high flow air intake, performance cams and exhaust systems.
It rides on beefy 46mm inverted front-forks and a rear mono-shock. Brake setup consists of dual 300mm discs up front and a 300mm disc at the rear.
Electronics include cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system and ABS. The Chieftain Elite also gets keyless ignition and remote-lockable hard bags.
