Indian Motorcycles has listed the 2017 Roadmaster Classic touring motorcycle on the Indian website. This hints at its impending domestic launch, which is expected to be priced at around ₹ 40 lakh in our country.
The new Roadmaster Classic will the latest addition to the Indian's touring range. It is based on the standard Roadmaster which is already on sale in India. And despite the retro-styled paint schemes, it comes loaded with all the hi-tech wizardry that one would expect in this modern day and age. The chrome tear drop logo on the fuel tank, desert tan leather seats, leather saddle bags and old-school luggage cases still make it look like a classic cruiser.
The modern tech includes a tyre pressure monitoring system, heated seats and grips, adjustable floorboards along with LED lights and keyless ignition. ABS is offered as standard, while the main highlight is the seven-inch touchscreen system that gets the brand's 'Rider Command' infotainment system. It features USB, Bluetooth, radio, navigation and shows the relevant riding data on the display too.
The 2017 Indian Roadmaster Classic comes powered by an air-cooled 1,811cc 'Thunder-Stroke' V-twin mill that churns out 135Nm of torque at 2,100rpm. The power is sent to the rear wheel through a maintenance-free belt drive.
The upcoming motorcycle is expected to be offered in different colour schemes including red over ivory cream, willow green over ivory cream and thunder black. When launched here, we can expect the Indian counterpart to also offer the removable leather saddle bags and a top box as offered in the US. The manufacturer had launched this 2017 Roadmaster Classic touring motorcycle in the USA in February this year.
