Kawasaki has launched the 2017 year model Ninja 100 for the Indian market at ₹ 9.98 lakh, ex-showroom India. The update adds a bunch of features to the sport-touring model, first of which is sharper, more aggressive styling, which makes it more worthy of the 'Ninja' moniker. LED headlamps that offer more illumination while consuming half the power are now present on it. The windshield is taller and the fairing wider, to offer better wind protection.
Also on the list of changes are a new instrument cluster, which retains an analog tachometer. The multi-function digital display now shows a lot more information thanks to the addition of the Kawasaki Cornering Management Function, which oversees the traction control and ABS to make the motorcycle easier to handle in a corner. Essentially it is a six-axis IMU system that now imparts intelligent traction control and ABS that work well even when leaned over. The engine has been tuned for an even smoother power delivery, and to meet the latest emission regulations. The Indian market will also be happy to know that seat height has reduced to 815mm, 5mm less than before. It will be available in two paint schemes, green with black or black with green.
The Ninja 1000 competes with the likes of the Suzuki GSX-S1000F and the Triumph Tiger 800.
