The 2017 KTM 1190 Adventure has been spotted undergoing trials ahead of its debut later this year. The heavily camouflaged test mule was spotted venturing out of KTM’s facility in Austria, giving us a preview of the manufacturer’s new design philosophy.
The massive new headlamp setup and the taller windscreen are the most prominent changes on the new KTM 1190 Adventure. The redesigned headlamp gets a vertical split and might integrate 1290’s cornering light system. We expect the KTM 1190 Adventure to retain the 1,195cc V-twin engine, though one of the crucial updates is that it will now be Euro IV compliant. In its current guise, this engine develops 147bhp and 125Nm of torque through a six-speed transmission. The electronics package includes a slipper clutch, four riding modes, three-level traction control and cornering ABS. The 1190 Adventure rides on electronically adjustable WP suspension.
The 2017 KTM 1190 Adventure is expected to debut at the 2016 INTERMOT motorcycle show in Cologne, Germany, in October. Apart from this, KTM will also unveil a host of other updated models including two new 1190 Adventure models, small-capacity Duke range and the new parallel twin adventure bikes.
