The 2017 KTM 250 Duke is the new entrant in company's naked bike range. Originally developed for Southeast Asian markets, the quarter-litre streetfighter has been launched India to fill the void between the 200 Duke and the 390 Duke. Here is a detailed photo gallery of the 2017 KTM 250 Duke -
KTM turned to the bigger Duke range to derive the styling of the new 250 Duke, with the decals further accentuating its raw appeal.
The headlamp gets a new design and integrates LED strips. The edgy bodywork complements the 250 Duke’s streetfighter character.
The 250 Duke is built around KTM's traditional steel trellis frame with an aluminium swingarm and the engine as a stressed member.
Powering the 250 Duke is a 248cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which delivers 30bhp and 24Nm of torque.
The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with slipper clutch. However, ABS is not being offered even as an option.
The 17-inch alloy wheels ride on 43mm inverted open cartridge front forks and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability.
The brake setup consists of a 300mm front disc brake with a fixed four-piston calliper and 230mm rear disc brake with single-piston calliper.
It is being offered in two paint schemes - orange and white, and competes with the Mahindra Mojo and the Benelli TNT 25.
