KTM’s small-capacity streetfighter, the 200 Duke, has been updated for 2017. Yet to reach our shores, the motorcycle features some major design and technological updates in line with the rest of the Duke family.
The new edgy bodywork and paint scheme adds aggression to the new KTM 200 Duke. With the grab rail now being moved under the rear seat, the tail section gets a clean and minimalistic look. KTM has attempted to improve comfort by redesigning the rider and passenger seats. While it does get the angular fascia similar to the 2017 390 Duke, the 200 Duke misses out on the LED headlights. KTM has also ditched the TFT instrument console to keep costs low.
The KTM 200 Duke is built around a trellis frame with the 199cc single-cylinder engine as a stressed member. While the engine is similar to the one in the outgoing model, it now meets Euro IV regulations thanks to a new exhaust system. KTM hasn’t revealed the power output, though we can expect it to be similar to outgoing model – 25bhp and 19Nm of torque.
We can expect the new KTM 200 Duke to be launched here in the first quarter of 2017 with a marginal bump in price. It will compete with the Benelli TNT 25 and the Mahindra Mojo.
