KTM’s pocket-racer, the RC 200, has undergone its second update since the launch in 2014. The KTM RC 200 gets a new paint scheme, some mechanical additions and a new price tag – Rs. 1,71,140 ex-showroom, Delhi.
The KTM RC 200 gets a new livery and the all-black paint scheme has made way for the white-orange-black wrap. In terms of branding, the RC 200 moniker gets prominence over the KTM badge for its placement on the fairing. The fairing continues to have the twin projector units and LED daytime lamps. There aren’t any changes in the track-focussed riding position and the butt-cracking seat remains.
Mechanically, the RC 200 gets a larger front disc, now measuring 320mm and will provide added braking power to cut down the pace. It has the same 199cc, 25bhp single-cylinder petrol engine that develops 19Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed transmission. The 4-valve engine is a performer and revs cleanly to 11000 rpm.
The new generation RC bikes are expected to debut at EICMA in Italy later this year which means you will have to wait for another year at least to get your hands on one here in India. On the other hand, the newly updated RC 200 is already available for purchase at KTM showrooms.
